8.30pm We have some massive midweek action from Europe on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE this week! The focus is fully on Cup action, and all eyes will be on Madrid on Tuesday night for the start of the second legs of the Copa del Rey. The way the calendar fell, with the International Break in between too, meant there was a massive gap between between the first and second legs. It’s crunch time this week though – everyone is no doubt expecting Real Madrid to progress from this Semi-Final, and then obviously we might have more drama between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Real come into this tie in an excellent position; they grinded out a 1-0 win away from home in the first leg, and now anything bar a home win would be a big shock given Real Sociedad haven’t exactly been at their best this season. Real come into the game as the hot favourites at 1.38 with Real Sociedad 9.0 and the draw is 5.7 at the time of writing. Although Real went into their game at the weekend here a shorter price to win, we had plenty of drama! They eventually won 3-2 in a very entertaining affair against Leganes. It’s hard to see them being as open here given the situation; but they seemingly fear nobody in that sense – they have that proper “we’ll outscore anyone mentality!”
It’s highly likely that they will outscore Real Sociedad too, because they have been poor in front of goal this season. They have an average xG created of only 1.23 this season, which is the joint-fifth worst attacking figure in La Liga. It’s easy to see why they have slipped down to mid-table from their sixth place finish last season – they are very unlikely to get a European finish this season. They have been trying to keep games as tight as possible, but on xG figures they are conceding more than they are creating.
It’ll be very interesting to see their tactics here because they have to chase the game; usually in a La Liga game they would come here to defend but they just can’t do that here with Real having the advantage from the first leg. I feel that will open the game up a little, and that will benefit Real too – I like Real to cover the handicap here, and I’m happy to take the 1.89 on Real to cover the 1.5 goal handicap for moderate stakes.
