BARCELONA V REAL MADRID

8pm We have another El Clasico on BETDAQ Betting Exchange on Wednesday night as Barcelona and Real Madrid clash again in the Copa del Rey! It feels like we’ve had a lot of El Clasico’s recently which is great – we obviously had the big clash in La Liga sandwiched in between the first and second leg ties of the Copa Semi-Final. Barcelona took the upper hand in this tie with a 1-0 win in the first leg, and Barcelona won in La Liga giving them a 12 point lead at the top of the table, and basically the title, as we all know that gap isn’t closing.

Although Barcelona have all the hard work done in La Liga, they have the hard work to do here to close this out. It will be very interesting to see what kind of tactics Barcelona opt for with a one goal lead. Realistically they can’t sit on a one goal lead at the Camp Nou – you just can’t do that. Real Madrid will have to make all the running though and try to open the game up; that shouldn’t be a problem. They have been creating a host of chances this season – they are averaging an xG of 2.3 in La Liga this season and warmed up for this fixture with a smooth 6-0 win at the weekend over Real Valladolid.

Barcelona managed to record an impressive win at the weekend too, they beat Elche4-0! Both sides come into this tie in perfect shape, and you’d imagine whoever wins will go on to win the Final too so we couldn’t have a better set-up! Barcelona are actually averaging the same xG figure created in La Liga this season as Real Madrid – the only difference between the sides is Barcelona are conceding an average xG of 0.9 while Real Madrid’s average is 1.0. There really isn’t anything between the sides on paper!

As you would expect, Barcelona are the favourites with home advantage. At the time of writing, they are trading 2.29 with Real Madrid 3.3 and the draw is 3.6. It took Barcelona until injury time to find the winning goal when the sides met in La Liga before the International break, but they did create the better chances. They finished the game with an xG of nearly four times what they conceded. Even when they lost El Clasico when Real Madrid had home advantage before the World Cup, they finished that game with a bigger xG figure than they conceded.

We obviously have two world class sides here, but Barcelona have actually been the better side every time they have met this season. The results might not reflect that fully, but the under-lining numbers point to Barcelona here. The 2.29 is too big to ignore in my opinion with home advantage – I’d have Barcelona closer to evens (2.0) and I believe the 2.29 is worth a Max Bet in what should be a cracking game.

The Ultra Says:
Five points win Barcelona to beat Real Madrid at 2.29 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
