BUNDESLIGA/LA LIGA PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Wednesday’s Bundesliga / La Liga games between BAYERN MUNICH v WOLFSBURG and BARCELONA v REAL SOCIEDAD both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BAYERN MUNICH V WOLFSBURG
7.30pm We have some excellent midweek fixtures across Europe. While Barcelona v Real Sociedad is a huge game in La Liga later, we start with the German Champions Bayern Munich taking on Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. Bayern haven’t been at their best this season and they’ve already had a few surprise results. They could only manage a 1-1 draw with Union Berlin at the weekend and that left them in the unusual position of going into the midweek round of fixtures in second place in the Bundesliga. They are one point behind Bayer Leverkusen and level on points with RB Leipzig who also drew with them the week prior.
I must say, they look very short at 1.38 against a Wolfsburg side who have been tough to beat lately. We landed a Bayern lay recently when we laid them against RB Leipzig at a price not too far away from 1.38, and perhaps that’s an angle tonight. Wolfsburg have had a lot of draws this season, but they bring an unbeaten record to the table after 11 games. They have been creating some good chances and have generally been rock solid. There’s no point beating around the bush; laying Bayern in the Bundesliga is always a tricky bet to call but I feel the value is with us again tonight on the lay. 1.38 is simply too short against a solid Wolfsburg side.

BARCELONA V REAL SOCIEDAD
8pm This is an infringing game to enjoy on a Wednesday evening and we should have a lively market on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. It’s a massive test for Real Sociedad who have enjoyed the start of the season sitting in top spot in La Liga. They started very strongly but they have lost a bit of their momentum with six draws in their last six games in all competitions. I find it fascinating to see how they will get on against an under par Barcelona side. Barcelona made hard work of beating Levante at the weekend, with Messi needing to score reasonably late on. That ended a run of two losses, and surely Sociedad will view this as a fantastic chance to beat Barcelona and make a huge statement.
However, as we saw with Real Madrid beating Atletico Madrid at the weekend – beating the top boys is easier said than done – even if they aren’t at their best this season and you’re sitting top of the table! I’d worry about Sociedad here because they haven’t been creating a huge amount of chances. However, I’m not a fan of Barcelona at 1.67 given their quality of football this season. We could have a quiet and cagey affair here, and while it’s only worth a small investment, I do like under 2.5 goals at the value price of 2.58. With Sociedad not banging in goals for fun and Barcelona struggling, we could have a quiet game here.
