BUNDESLIGA PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Wednesday’s Bundesliga games between SCHALKE v KOLN and AUGSBURG v BAYERN MUNICH both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
SCHALKE V KOLN
5.30pm Another interesting night ahead on BETDAQ Betting Exchange in Europe and we start with our old friends Schalke hosting Koln. We landed a nice bet opposing Schalke against at the weekend after their broke their run without a win the week previously against Hoffenheim. I noted at the weekend that although Schalke broke their run they still conceded an xG of 1.93 and were lucky to keep a clean sheet. They had been improving going forward but they still have major issues at the back – indeed the weekend told a very similar story for them with the game finishing 2.19 to 0.15 on xG to Frankfurt.
This is a fascinating game from a betting point of view as Koln have been poor this season too. They are sitting in the bottom three, only five points ahead of Schalke. With both sides only winning three games all season between them, this isn’t a game to be lumping on either side. Schalke will view it as an excellent chance to close the gap but I like Koln at the odds here. I’d have both sides closer together in the betting here, so the value is with Koln at 2.9 in what should be a low quality affair.

AUGSBURG V BAYERN MUNICH
7.30pm Bayern Munich haven’t been at their best this season. They’ve had some surprise losses and three draws but nobody has been able to take advantage and they still sit at the top of the Bundesliga. I thought the title race might be a bit closer this season, but it looks like Bayern could run away with it again if they go on a winning run for a couple of weeks. They should get the job done easily tonight against an average Augsburg side, and the markets agree with Bayern trading 1.24. They are a must for any BETDAQ Multiples this evening, however I’m happy to focus on the side markets for my recommended bet.
It’s hard to see anything but an easy Bayern win here. I feel it’s a case of how many goals rather than will they actually win. The xG figures say it could be a lot! Augsburg conceded an xG of 3.90 against Stuttgart in their last home game, 2.45 to Frankfurt prior to that and even 2.34 to the poor Schalke before that. They have actually performed better away from home. Bayern may have lost to Gladbach but they have been putting the average sides to the sword lately. xG’s of 3.25 and 4.31 highlight that and with the amount of chances Augsburg give away I can only see a smooth Bayern win. Bayern -1.5 goals is very much worth backing at 1.55.
