CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEDNESDAY: The Ultra previews the final matchday with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
FINAL MATCHDAY
8pm We finish the Champions League Group stage on Betdaq Betting Exchange this week, and we have a massive Wednesday night with 18 games all kicking off at the same time! There’s plenty of interesting matches to go through, and there’s going to be some massive drama – the biggest storyline at the moment could be Serie A Champions Napoli exiting the tournament at this stage. Something barely believable with the top 24 going through – Napoli currently sit in 25th and they have a tough fixture too at home to Chelsea. There are five sides all on eight points, so we could get into a goal difference drama towards the end but Athletic Bilbao and Olympiacos – both just above them – are both favourites to win their games. Chelsea are favourites at 2.36 with Napoli 3.25 and the draw is 3.65 at the time of writing.
Obviously there’s the big game on the bubble – especially with Chelsea sitting just inside the top eight too. You’d have to call that the biggest game of the night. Finishing in the top eight is an obvious advantage; Chelsea have a tonne of big clubs sitting behind them too. Barcelona in 9th, Manchester City in 11th, Atletico Madrid in 12th and then you have Inter Milan, Juventus and Dortmund all within two points as well. You also have sides that could struggle to stay within the top eight – Newcastle a prime example currently in 7th on the same amount of points as Chelsea, but the Geordies have an exceptionally difficult fixture away to PSG. As you would expect, PSG are the odds on favourites there at 1.57 with Newcastle 6.4 and the draw is 4.8 at the time of writing.
You also have the likes of Spurs sitting inside the top eight, and they have been woeful domestically this season! More dropped points at the weekend has them down in 14th, and their under-lining numbers have been poor too – they only have an average xG created of 1.32 which must be putting pressure on Thomas Frank. They are away to Eintracht Frankfurt, and the 1.94 looks a little short to win here given with the slight gulf in class between the sides. Frankfurt have been conceding goals for fun in the Bundesliga though! The only side really sitting pretty is Spurs London rivals Arsenal – they have a perfect seven from seven record, and they are at home to Kairat Almaty – they are the shortest price of the evening – 1.07 to win which is a price only usually seen in International football such is the gulf in class there!
Obviously there is a lot of action to go through; it’s sometimes hard to focus given there’s so much. From a trading point of view, it’s good to pick one or two games and focus on them rather than be pulled in every direction. We haven’t even mentioned the huge clash between Dortmund and Inter Milan too as they push for a win to get into the top eight! From all the games, there’s one bet I like that stands out – in the Eintracht Frankfurt v Spurs game I like Over 2.5 goals at 1.72. This looks the bet of the night in my opinion – Spurs have been very sloppy at the back this season and so have Frankfurt. In the Bundesliga they’ve been conceding over two goals a game on average, and their games have been exceptionally entertaining. A mistake at the back is never far away with Spurs either, and I feel we’re getting enough value at 1.72 to have a Five Star NAP rather than have five points spread out over a few bets.
The Ultra Says:
Five points win Over 2.5 goals Eintracht Frankfurt v Tottenham at 1.72 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
