CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Wednesday’s Champions League games between CHELSEA V ATLETICO MADRID and BAYERN MUNICH V LAZIO both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

CHELSEA V ATLETICO MADRID

8pm What a fixture! After two exciting days at the Cheltenham Festival with another two to go, this is an excellent fixture to settle down on the couch and enjoy. Everything is on the line as Chelsea lead 1-0 from the first leg and they have been playing nicely in the Premier League, while Atletico sit top of La Liga but they have dropped some points in recent weeks and the gap has closed. I can’t wait! Of course, it’s made even better by all bets being 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange between Tuesday and Saturday this week for the Cheltenham Festival, so hopefully we can find some winners. Both sides drew 0-0 at the weekend, Chelsea with Leeds in a game where they didn’t create much with an xG of just over 1 and Atletico with Getafe however they were unlucky, finishing the game with an xG of 1.82.

It all comes down to the odds here, especially in such a good game. It’s hard to see anything other than a very close game – I can’t see Atletico chasing the game too early with just one goal in it. The market is more or less expecting a cagey game too, with under 2.5 goals trading 1.64. Those odds are priced very fairly for me as we should get another very tight game between the sides. Atletico will say they were unlucky to lose in the first leg as xG finished 1.21 to 0.82 to them – but there really wasn’t much in it. Looking at the market, I’m happy to lay Chelsea at 2.32 as I feel that’s much too short – I can see Atletico making those odds look very short in-play and while Chelsea have been playing well in the Premier League, this is a completely different level and I wouldn’t have Chelsea such big favourites.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Chelsea to beat Atletico Madrid at 2.32 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange.

BAYERN MUNICH V LAZIO

8pm We finish the Last 16 with Bayern Munich hosting Lazio. It’s fair to say that this is probably the most boring second leg from a competitive point of view as Bayern lead 4-1 and it’s nearly impossible to see Lazio turning that around. I know PSG lead Barcelona 4-1 too but at least Barcelona have the reputation to come back. Not only are Bayern much better than Lazio, but they come into the fixture in great form too. They actually bounced back to hammer Lazio in the first leg when they went two games in the Bundesliga without a win, which is rare! They’ve scored 12 goals in three games since scoring four against Lazio, and one of those was against Dortmund too.

Lazio would have been happy to get back to winning ways against Crotone but they sit down the bottom of Serie A, and they lost to Juventus and Bologna prior to that. Nothing says we’ll see a come back here, and I would have expected Bayern to be shorter than 1.35 too but perhaps there is some element of rested players priced in. Lazio have no option but to “have a go” here and Bayern enjoy playing a very open game anyway. This is a game for small stakes given the situation, but I would have over 3.5 goals odds on and I’m happy to take the 2.04 on offer, especially with 0% commission.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Over 3.5 goals at 2.04 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange.
