WEDNESDAY CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: The Ultra previews CLUB BRUGGE v ATALANTA and CELTIC v BAYERN MUNICH both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
CLUB BRUGGE V ATALANTA
5.45pm The Champions League Knockouts continue on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE with a fascinating Wednesday! After all 18 games kicking off at the same time on the final matchday of the Group stage, it’s nice to have the 5-45pm kick off back. Club Brugge host Atalanta with both clubs right on the borderline for this stage. Atalanta fell out of the top eight on the final matchday with a draw against Barcelona – obviously dropping out of the top eight on the final matchday is tough to take, but they were always up against it away to Barcelona. Club Brugge were up against it too, facing a Manchester City side who needed to win to get to this stage – they just barely got into this stage, but to be fair it’s a cracking result for them. As you would expect, Atalanta come into the game as the favourites at 2.12 with Club Brugge 4.1 and the draw is 3.5 at the time of writing. Atalanta recorded an excellent 5-0 win at the weekend away to Verona, and even though Verona are in a relegation battle that win was badly needed – they had only managed one win from their six previous Serie A games.
Club Brugge are six points behind Genk in Belgium, probably highlighting the remarkable achievement to get to this stage to be honest. How they got here was their home form – they managed wins over Aston Villa and Sporting Lisbon here, along with holding Juventus to a 0-0 draw. It’s easy to see why Atalanta aren’t trading odds on with that record. It’ll be interesting to see what tactics the home side adopt here; Brugge have definitely aimed to keeping games as tight as possible and their average xG created at home was only 1.21 in the Group stage. With the second leg away, they’ll have to take something to Italy so it’ll be interesting to see do they open up a little. Atalanta have been playing some excellent football this season though – they have the best attacking figure in Serie A. I do expect Atalanta to get the job done here, but 2.12 doesn’t make much appeal given the Brugge home results along with Atalanta not getting over the line in Serie A games recently. I expect Atalanta to have to grind out a win here, and Under 2.5 goals looks a nice position at 1.9 in what should be a very tight game.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.9 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

CELTIC V BAYERN MUNICH
8pm We finish Wednesday night with Celtic hosting Bayern Munich – there’s no doubt that Celtic Park will be rocking, but there is a big gulf in class between the sides here. Bayern will be fully expected to win, but we have had some magic European nights here with an unbelievable atmosphere. Nevertheless, Bayern Munich come into the game as the hot favourites at 1.41 with Celtic 8.0 and the draw is 5.8 at the time of writing. Celtic are running away with the Scottish Premiership, but that’s nothing unusual – they usually crash out at the Group stage of the Champions League so to get to this stage is a decent achievement. They took some beatings away from home, but their home form carried them – wins against Slovan, RB Leipzig and Young Boys along with a draw against Club Brugge meant they went unbeaten at home in the Group stage. RB Leipzig have been playing quite poor football this season in the Bundesliga, and we all know that Bayern are on a completely different level. Bayern did lose all their games away from home in the Champions League though – 1-0 v Aston Villa, 4-1 v Barcelona and 3-0 v Feyenoord. Obviously you can forgive the Barcelona one, but the other two results were pretty disappointing.
It was a good weekend for Bayern in the Bundesliga; another win along with more dropped points from Bayer Leverkusen leaves them eight points clear now. Obviously there is a big gulf in class here, and the biggest positive for Celtic is their home form – along with Bayern having their losses away from home. Although I do expect Bayern to get the job done here, it’s hard to argue that they should be massively shorter than 1.41. For me that looks like the correct price, and I’m happy to stay away from the match odds market here. This is a very similar game to the one above in the sense that Celtic need to take a result to Germany so they will likely have to chase the game at some stage – Bayern have been a little sloppy at the back this season and I feel we’ll see an open game here. Both Teams To Score is trading 1.72 and that looks a nice position in my opinion.
