LA LIGA: The Ultra previews the action from La Liga on Wednesday as Celta Vigo host Real Betis with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
CELTA VIGO V REAL BETIS
8pm We have midweek action from La Liga this week on Betdaq Betting Exchange as Celta Vigo host Real Betis! This definitely won’t be the most glamorous fixture we have from Europe this week, but we do have an interesting betting heat. Celta Vigo made a lot of progress last season as these sides finished right beside each other in sixth and seventh – both getting into the Europa League for this season. Celta Vigo finished 13th in 2023/24 and 2022/23, 11th in 2021/22 and they actually came very close to getting relegated in 2019/20 as they finished one point outside the bottom three. To get European football last season was an impressive achievement to be fair.
Celta Vigo have been playing some nice football, for their level, for a while now and it’s good to see them finally get the results their under-lining numbers deserve. They had the seventh best attacking figure in La Liga last season, and that is where they have ended up. We have an interesting market here – there’s quite a big gap in the betting and Celta Vigo come into the game as the clear favourites. The home win is trading 2.26 with Real Betis 3.4 and the draw is 3.65 at the time of writing. Obviously home advantage is an important factor here, but I wasn’t expecting to see Celta Vigo trading that short when I clicked into the market.
Real Betis finished only five points ahead of Celta Vigo last season, but they played some very nice football. They actually finished with the third highest attacking figure in La Liga – only Barcelona and Real Madrid created more chances. OK, there was quite a big difference between the top two and the rest, but it’s a sign of how well Real Betis played. They were solid at the back too – but Celta Vigo actually had a marginally better average xG conceded last season. However, Celta Vigo were much more sloppy at the back, conceding a lot more goals than they should have.
Obviously Celta Vigo made a lot of progress last season, however it’s hard to see past a very close game here between two very similar sides. The sides drew 2-2 when Real Betis had home advantage last season and later on in the season Celta Vigo won 3-2 when they were at home. Both games were very entertaining, and Over 2.5 goals will be a popular bet here at 1.93. However, from a value point of view I’m very happy with the Celta Vigo lay at 2.26. I just expect a closer game than the odds suggest here!
The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Celta Vigo to beat Real Betis at 2.26 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
