CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews PSG v MANCHESTER CITY, the second Champions League semi-final, with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
PSG V MANCHESTER CITY
8pm The second Champions League Semi-Final takes place on Wednesday and we have another wonderful fixture. This is what Champions League nights are for! It’s the clash of the cash as PSG take on Manchester City. It was nice to land a Max Bet in the Quarter Finals with Bayern Munich against PSG, but PSG still went through on away goals and I feel we can land another Max Bet here with Manchester City. They are trading 2.2 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange which looks huge to me, indeed it’s the same price as our last Max Bet as Lazio beat AC Milan on Monday.
I know Man City have sometimes fluffed their lines in the Champions League, but they have an excellent chance of reaching the Final here. PSG simply haven’t been at their best this season, and they were very lucky to get through Bayern Munich. Perhaps that is City’s luck this year, as you would have fancied Bayern to beat City, but City could hammer this PSG team. PSG have closed the gap a little in recent weeks at the top of the French League, but they are still behind Lille at the top of the table. They have lost eight games this season in a very weak league, and usually they have it won by now.
They also have Monaco just one point behind them, and then are only five points ahead of Lyon too. I know they have changed the manager and the season clearly hasn’t gone to plan for them, but they just haven’t been playing at the same level. They managed a 3-2 win away from home against Bayern but the score line didn’t tell the story at all, as they game finished 4.28 to 1.65 on xG to Bayern. How Bayern only managed two goals is a mystery given how much they dominated the game but that was PSG’s luck on the night.
They not face an in-form Manchester City side who have been creating chances for fun. They are fresh off a 1-0 win over Spurs in the League Cup Final on Sunday, but they were unlucky not to score more and barely gave Spurs a chance in front of goal. They have been creating some excellent xG figures recently, even when the results haven’t gone their way, and with the amount of mistakes that PSG are making at the back it’s hard to see how they can stop City.
The market is expecting an open game with plenty of goals, and while that might not be the case as it’s a first leg, I can still see City getting a lot of chances. I would have Guardiola’s side odds on and I’m very happy to have a Max Bet at 2.2 – hopefully it’s another winning one.
The Ultra Says:
