SUPER CUP ON WEDNESDAY: The Ultra previews Wednesday’s Super Cup clash between REAL MADRID v EINTRACHT FRANKFURT with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
REAL MADRID V EINTRACHT FRANKFURT
8pm The Champions League winners meet the Europa League winners in the Super Cup on Wednesday on BETDAQ Betting Exchange ! This could have been an all British affair as Liverpool and Rangers lost in the Finals, but Real Madrid take on Eintracht Frankfurt in what should be an entertaining game. As La Liga kicks off at the weekend, this will be like a pre-season friendly for Real Madrid, but that being said this is always a nice trophy to add to the cabinet – much better than the Community Shield in England for example!
Eintracht Frankfurt started their season on Friday night in the Bundesliga, but they got absolutely hammered by Bayern Munich. I know we landed a nice Max Bet on Bayern Munich, but even I was surprised just how easy it was for Bayern. A 6-1 hammering for Eintracht Frankfurt – they went behind after four minutes and that was that. They were 5-0 down by half-time. With Haaland gone to the Premier League, it’s hard to see anyone challenging Bayern in Germany – the season could be over by Christmas to be honest. Let’s not forget that Eintracht Frankfurt had a poor season in Germany last season though – but even allowing for that, Bayern looked unstoppable.
Real Madrid generally take the Super Cup seriously, they have won four of the last five they have been involved in. Spanish sides have a very impressive record too winning nine of the last twelve; obviously Real Madrid have boost that stat! For Eintracht Frankfurt – this is actually their first time ever in the Super Cup. While Real Madrid might take it seriously, you’d imagine this would actually be a massive achievement for a club like Frankfurt if they won. The market is expecting a Real Madrid win however – the Spanish giants are trading 1.44 at the time of writing while Frankfurt trade 7.4 and the draw is 4.8.
When you look at the Bundesliga table from last season, you can’t help but feel disappointed with Frankfurt. However, it’s reasonable to suggest they focused on the Europa League because they got so deep into that competition – that usually happens when mid-table clubs go deep into major competitions. Rangers even gave up the Scottish Premiership to Celtic after going the whole season unbeaten. It’s very hard to compete in Europe and domestically when you’re under intense pressure – I suppose that’s why everyone criticised Arsenal for not getting top four in the Premier League last season too.
In terms of quality, it’s hard to see past a Real Madrid win here. They are a few levels above Eintracht Frankfurt. I think they would be shorter if it was a fully competitive game. It’s also worth mentioning if you’re having a bet in this game that this will be the first same with the Semi-Automated Offside Technology from FIFA. The jury is of course out on that – I would suggest over 50% of football fans don’t like VAR as it is. Hopefully it gets the decisions correct.
When I look at this fixture I feel it just screams goals. Real Madrid were involved in the most entertaining Champions League games last season, and I can’t see them not wanting to have an open game here. Frankfurt can be expected to be a little cagey, but there’s no point in them playing for a draw here either after all. Perhaps we won’t see Frankfurt concede six like they did on Friday night but at the same time I can only see goals here. Over 2.5 goals looks a very attractive price at around 1.65 in what should be a very enjoyable game to watch.
The Ultra Says:
Three points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.65 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
