REAL SOCIEDAD V REAL MADRID

8.30pm The Copa del Rey Semi-Finals continue on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE as Real Sociedad host Real Madrid on Wednesday night. As I highlighted in my preview of the first Semi-Final between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, the Copa del Rey Semi-Finals have fallen miles apart this season with the International Break in March – we won’t have the second legs until the start of April! Given Barcelona and Atletico Madrid face each other in the other Semi-Final, this is definitely the easier option for Real Madrid!

It’s no surprise that Los Blanco’s come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.86 with Real Sociedad 4.5 and the draw is 4.0 at the time of writing. Real Madrid have had an excellent week coming into this tie – they knocked out Manchester City from the Champions League and then got back to winning ways in La Liga. They’ve still given away a lot of ground recently, so Barcelona top the table by one point at the moment. There’s plenty of drama ahead in the title race!

Real Sociedad had a good season finishing sixth last season, and they are in the mix for sixth again this season. They’re in eighth at the moment but there’s only one point between Rayo Vallecano in sixth and Mallorca in ninth! There’s a huge gulf in class between the sides here looking at the under-lining numbers – Real Madrid have the best attacking figure in La Liga this season with an average xG created of 1.88 whereas for Real Sociedad their attacking figures is only 1.27. Sociedad haven’t even been converting those chances – they’ve really struggled in front of goal this season – they’ve scored less than one goal per game on average in La Liga.

This is an interesting game from a tactical point of view – Sociedad have kept their games as tight as possible this season. They’ve actually conceded the same amount of goals as Real Madrid this season. Obviously it’s hard to see Sociedad getting a result away from home in the second leg so they will need to bring a lead to the Bernabeu. They might have to come out of their shell at some stage in that sense, but I’d expect them to try and keep things as cagey as possible. Under 2.5 goals is trading 2.12 which is an appealing bet here; Real won 2-0 here when the sides met early in the season and the xG figures were quite low. I’d have Unders as the favourite in what should be a tight game, and I’m happy with a confident bet.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Under 2.5 goals at 2.12 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
