SUPER CUP: The Ultra previews Wednesday’s Super Cup between REAL MADRID v ATALANTA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
REAL MADRID v ATALANTA
8pm We had the Community Shield at the weekend from Wembley, and now it’s time for the UEFA Super Cup on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE as Real Madrid meet Atalanta on Wednesday night in Warsaw. Real Madrid are bidding to become the first side to win the Super Cup six times! Not many other sides will get an opportunity to do that, that’s definitely a reflection of Los Blancos success in the Champions League! Not many would have expected Atalanta to be here given Bayer Leverkusen were odds on favourites in the Europa League Final in Dublin, but Atalanta blew them away with Lookman having the game of his life!
All eyes will be on Kylian Mbappe in his first major game for Real Madrid. After a poor Euro 2024 where he did have to play with a broken nose in fairness, the biggest question is will he fit into the Real Madrid system that was so successful last season. They were very comfortable in winning La Liga, and although they got themselves into some tricky situations in the Champions League they always found a way to get themselves out of trouble at the right time. Another Real Madrid summer signing Endrick looks like he will be involved too, along with Jude Bellingham who is back after a break with England losing Euro 2024 in the Final.
This is Atalanta’s first Super Cup, and there’s no doubt that they will be taking this seriously. You could be very negative and say this is little more than an opening season friendly, but I do feel there’s more importance winning this trophy compared to the community Shield for example. Atalanta could hand out a few debuts too, they have spent money this season given they have Champions League football to come. Serie A getting an extra Champions League spot is an excellent result for them in the long-term too; they are definitely a top five side!
Given it’s so early in the season, it is wise to go into this game with small stakes. I would definitely keep an eye on the team news too given we could easily see some surprises there – that’s definitely a trading angle. You’d have to expect Mbappe to start for example, but Bellingham might not and that could see Real Madrid drift. Real Madrid come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.58 with Atalanta 6.2 and the draw is 4.8 at the time of writing. The market is expecting an entertaining game too with Over 2.5 goals trading odds on at 1.71.
Atalanta have mainly spent their money on forwards this summer, but they had no problem creating chances last season. They finished with the third highest average xG created behind Napoli and Inter Milan. Real Madrid had no issues going forward obviously; they were one of the most entertaining sides in Europe and finished the La Liga season with the highest average xG created. I feel we’ll get an entertaining game here, and although I’m keen to keep stakes small to start the season, Over 2.5 goals looks a nice position at 1.71.
The Ultra Says:
One point win Over 2.5 goals at 1.71 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
