7.30pm Werder Bremen and Eintracht Frankfurt take the spotlight on Wednesday night as the only Bundesliga game. Werder Bremen are unbeaten since losing on the first fixture back after lockdown and although they have been classed as lucky on xG, they have kept their games very tight. We’ve only seen two goals in their last three fixtures. Eintracht Frankfurt have been the opposite with bags of chances and goals in their fixtures. It should make for an interesting game.
Frankfurt have been consistently out-performing their league position all season. They are sitting in 12th, but xG puts them in 7th. Perhaps they play a game too open for their own good. Werder Bremen haven’t been good at home this season, losing 9 of their 13 games and conceding 30. Although Eintracht Frankfurt have conceded one more away from home and they’ve also lost 10 of their 14 away games.
I’m not surprised at all to see such an open market and the goal markets look fairly priced given Werder Bremen’s lack of goals in their recent fixtures. xG screams that Frankfurt are better than their results and while the results have to turn around at some stage, you do wonder as we draw close to the end of the season how motivated they are.
All that considered, I still feel that the Frankfurt price is worth backing at 2.72. Werder Bremen are a poor side and there for the beating, Frankfurt just have to take their chances and they can win. The reason for the low staking is because Frankfurt haven’t reflected their good xG recently and that needs to change. It can change tonight with a very winnable fixture.
