SATURDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews UNION BERLIN v BAYERN MUNICH and VILLARREAL v REAL MADRID both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
UNION BERLIN V BAYERN MUNICH
2.30pm We have a cracking Saturday from Europe on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE before we head into the first International break of 2025. We have action from the Bundesliga and La Liga with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid both in action away from home. We kick the day off in the Bundesliga as Union Berlin host Bayern Munich. It was a positive week for Bayern as they progressed into the Quarter-Finals of the Champions League; this week was just about finishing the job after winning the first leg 3-0 and effectively putting the tie to bed. Bayern had a shock loss last weekend in the Bundesliga though; losing 3-2 at home to Bochum! That was easily the shock of the season around Europe in my opinion; Bayern went into that game trading as short as 1.13! Ironically, Bayer Leverkusen lost too so the gap at the top of the table stayed at eight points; talk about things not going right for Leverkusen this season! The title race is as good as done, but when they are missing out on opportunities like that to close the gap, you know the title is going back to Bayern this season.
Union Berlin have been really struggling this season – they actually come into this matchday sitting down in 14th only six points off Bochum in the relegation playoff spot. They aren’t really in trouble, but it’s a crushing fall considering they finished in the top four not long ago. This is a game that Bayern will be fully expected to win, and with no Champions League fixture to distract them this week, it would be a surprise if we didn’t see a Bayern win. As you would expect, Bayern Munich come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.39 with Union Berlin 10.5 and the draw is 5.5 at the time of writing. I would happily include Bayern in any Acca this weekend; Union Berlin have really struggled to score goals this season – their average xG created is mid-table level but they haven’t been converting those chances and they are scoring less than a goal a game on average. They come up against the side with an average xG conceded of just 0.79 which is the best defensive figure in Europe this season never mind the Bundesliga. I feel Bayern will keep a clean sheet on the way to winning here, and Both Teams Not To Score looks a looks a nice position at 1.98.

VILLARREAL V REAL MADRID
5.30pm We move over to La Liga to finish Saturday as Villarreal host Real Madrid. This should be a cracker, and it’s yet another high pressure game for Real Madrid. They got back to winning ways last weekend, but that loss away to home against Real Betis has handed Barcelona the advantage at the moment – only on goal difference though. We have the huge clash between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid to enjoy on Sunday, so this weekend might be a chance for Real Madrid to take back the advantage. In their way though is a solid Villarreal side who have finally found their mojo again after Unai Emery left. Villarreal have the third best attacking figure in La Liga this season behind Barcelona and Real Madrid; they are marginally better going forward compared to Real Betis, and we know how that ended for Real recently. Villarreal are pushing for a top four finish, but they had a huge setback last weekend in that regard with a loss away to Alaves. Given Alaves are in the relegation battle, if Villarreal want that fourth spot they simply cannot afford to drop more points in fixtures like that. They meet Athletic Bilbao here soon in early April though; they will be a huge game for that fourth spot.
It’s not a surprise to see Real Madrid come into the game as the favourites, but there are plenty of willing layers and they aren’t odds on. They had a huge game midweek away to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League; they took a 2-1 lead into the second leg and with Atletico winning 1-0 we saw a very dramatic penalty shootout that involved VAR. As is always seemingly the way, Real Madrid escaped a very difficult situation and found a way to get through! Real Madrid are trading 2.22 with Villarreal 3.25 and the draw is 3.95 at the time of writing. When the sides met earlier in the season, Real had to grind out a 2-0 win but that score line flatted them on xG figures. The 2.22 doesn’t jump off the page here as massive value, especially after a very tough game midweek. Under 2.5 goals is trading 2.78 and I have to say I was very surprised to see that price when I clicked into the market. I feel we’ll see a more cagey game here than the market is expecting, and I’m happy to back Unders.
