PREMIER LEAGUE PREVIEW The big teams are all avoiding each other this week which will hopefully make things somewhat easier on the betting front, although the odds will not be as good so we go to find the best prices available in the Premier League this weekend.
West Ham v Swansea
3.00pm Saturday West Ham have been in horrid form over the last while with five defeats in a row, but I can see this turning around this weekend when they take on Swansea. They certainly need a win otherwise they really put themselves into the danger of getting into a relegation battle as many of the teams below them have actually been picking up points since their own losing streak started.
Swansea are one of the teams that have seen an improvement of late under Paul Clement, yet they found themselves back in the relegation zone after their defeat and Hull’s win during the week. Llorente hasn’t played in the last few games and without him I think Swansea really struggle to get goals. I can see this being the case against West Ham, even with the weak defence the home side have had this season. On the other side of the ball I think Swansea will struggle to contain Andy Carroll as they have nobody who can match him physically.
If you go back to their last meeting earlier in the season, West Ham overcame Swansea by 4 goals to 1, and Swansea were the home side on that occasion. OK things are a bit different at Swansea now with their new manager, they are certainly an improved team since these sides last met but I still think they will struggle against a West Ham side who will be eyeing up this game as a great opportunity to get out of their recent slump. I can see the home team getting a comfortable win here.

Back West Ham at 2.12.

Middlesbrough v Burnley
3.00pm Saturday In this one I’m going to go for Middlesbrough to get the better of Burnley. OK they lost 4-2 to Hull during the week, but this was a very uncharacteristic result for them. They have actually been quite good at the back this season, so it was certainly a bit of a shock to see them conced four goals. Their main problem this season has been their inability to find the back of the net. They really haven’t been able to buy a goal but there was at least some signs of encouragement on that front during the week.
With Stev Agnew in charge I think they will concentrate a lot more in trying to get some goals going forward. He needs to otherwise they don’t stand a chance of surviving. He will certainly believe they can get something against Burnley who have a dreadful away record in the Premier League. At a pretty good price I expect Middlesbrough to get a big result this weekend.
TONY’S BEST BET:
Back Middlesbrough at 2.5.

Man City v Hull
3.00pm Saturday With so many one sided games this weekend I have had to look for value where I could find it tomorrow. Do I think Hull will beat City? Not likely, but I can see them giving them a good run and I think they can definitely beat the handicap in my opinion. They have become a very dangerous side in the past couple of months, home and away and I think they will put it up to City for a good portion of the game.
I would expect them to ship a few goals at the back, they still do that even under their new manager but they are so much more of a threat going forward. People might look back to Everton where they were beaten 4-0 but you must remind yourself they had a sending off in that game and were competing well up until that point. I think +2 goals with their form lately at around even money is quite a good bet.
TONY’S BEST BET:
Back Hull City +2 at 1.99.
