Tonight I have just one race to play in as there are a lot of odds on shots on the Hove card.
I am backing two dogs in the 9.56 trap 4 Larrikin and trap 6 Caesars Rocket.
Trap 1 Bridge Ruth wont be suited being drawn in trap 1.
Trap 2 Slippery Patch had a clear passage last week when he beat Airlie Impact with only five runners in the race. This week there are six and he is surrounded by pace.
Trap 3 Britania Richard is the outsider of the party and it looks impossible for him from trap 3 as he will be heading for the rail.
Trap 5 Airlie Impact let us down as my selection last week and I won’t forgive him. He ran so wide he nearly ended up on Brighton Pier and I think his reputation proceeds him.
He hasn’t regained his Sussex Cup form.
Three dogs in this race went faster then him last week over C&D with sectionals of 4.21, 4.26 and 4.20. He is 0 from 3 from trap 5.
Although he’s well tipped up in the Racing Post, he is on a losing run of seven and seemed sluggish after breaking well last week.
My first selection is Trap 4 Larrakin at around 5.0. He’s 15 from 43 with a best time of 29.78 and although his draw is a bit tricky he will be helped by trap 3 moving to the rail and Airlie taking a middle to wide.
So I fancy him to be in contention at the 1st bend, the only negative is he hasn’t run since 14th Feb.
My second selection is trap 6 Caesers Rocket whose biggest task will be to pass Airlie in Trap 5 and he’s a huge runner.
He’s won 4 from trap 6 with 4 from 10 over CD and sectionals of 4.08 and 4.09.
We have a rocket at the Crucible and let’s hope we have one at Hove.
He will be my selection at around 7.0 with Trap 4 at around 5.0 subject to them all running, around 2/1 combined.
