Tonight I am looking at the card from Hove where there are eight Open races on a 12 race programme.

I am going to concentrate on the 7.46 which is the maiden standard four bend race, which is probably the worst race on the card and won’t take much winning. On what they have achieved I am not very keen on traps 1, 2, 3 or 4 in a race that is short on early speed.

Trap 1 has won 3 out of 12 (graded races), this is his first race in an open.
Trap 2 is 0 from 15 in career starts and 0 from 12 at Hove. He has three second places in open races and could make the market for my two selections in the race. I don’t think he will take a lot of beating.
Trap 3 is 2 from 14 career starts (wins an A4 and A5). He will struggle to handle the hike in class.
Trap 4 is 9 from 40 (all wins in Crayford). He has had two goes in Hove and both of them ended in defeat.

Trap 5 & 6 are my selections even though both are yet to break their duck in the UK….! if either reproduce their Irish form it will be enough to win a race of this calibre.
Trap 5 is 8 wins from 14 career start. Amassed €2440 price money in Ireland.
Trap 6 is 6 from 14 in Ireland (wins at Waterford and Enniscorthy) over all trips.

I just favour Trap 5 whose eight wins in Ireland (Kilkenny, Thurles & Shelbourne). He has had three races at Romford and now he is running on a galloping surface that will suit him much better and possibly reproduce that kind of form he had in Ireland as he has won up to 750 at Shelbourne. He amassed €2440 in prize money in Ireland.

TREVDAQ’S SELECTION
My selection is Trap 5 at around 4.5 and upwards with a stakesaver on Trap 6 at 5.5 or bigger (7.46 Hove)
