WEEK AHEAD: A crucial week of European and domestic football for British sides is accompanied by daily IPL action and another night of Premier League Darts.


Monday begins with action from the Indian Premier League. Both Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings have been struggling for form and will be looking for a change in fortunes when they meet at 15:00 (Sky Sports). Crystal Palace and Leeds are both still just in the relegation battle, but a win from either of them would surely be enough to secure safety. They are live from 20:00 on Sky Sports.

On Tuesday the Royal Challengers Bangalore face the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL (15:00, Sky Sports). In the evening, London Irish look to be up against it in the Premiership Rugby Cup semi final as they take on a formidable Leicester side (19:45, BT Sport). Then there’s the Champions League semi final first leg between Manchester City and Real Madrid from the Etihad (20:00, BT Sport). Can Pep Guardiola get one over his old rivals?

Gujarat Titans have made a blistering start in the IPL, losing only one match so far, and they’ll be looking to continue that run against Sunrisers Hyderabad at 15:00 (Sky Sports) on Wednesday. The second Premiership Rugby Cup semi final features Gloucester and Worcester (19:45, BT Sport). At 20:00 Liverpool host Villarreal in the first leg of their semi final and Jurgen Klopp’s team are heavy favourites to take a lead to Spain. Coverage is live on BT Sport.

Thursday brings another busy day of sport. Day one from The Catalunya Championship on the DP World Tour gets underway at 13:00. The PGA tour follows hot on its heels with action beginning from the Mexico Championship just 45 minutes later. Both are live on Sky Sports. There’s more from the IPL at 15:00, before the next round of the Premier League Darts gets underway from 19:00 on Sky Sports. Man United’s hopes of a top four spot look to be dwindling and they will need to be at their best if they are to take anything off Chelsea (19:45, Sky Sports). It’s another big day for British teams in Europe, with West Ham and Rangers taking on Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig in their respective Europa League semi final first legs, while Leicester welcome Roma to the King Power for their Europa Conference League semi final. All three games are live at 20:00 on BT Sport.

Friday sees the golf continue, with the second rounds getting underway at the same time on Sky Sports. Kings XI Punjab play the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL at 15:00 (Sky Sports). Northampton are up against Harlequins at 19:45 (BT Sport) in the Gallagher Premiership.

Saturday kicks off with the IPL (11:00) and there’s another live game from India at 15:00 on Sky Sports. Newcastle fans must already be thinking about next season, having seen their team guarantee their Premier League survival, but they will be in for a difficult afternoon when title chasing Liverpool come calling at 12:30 (BT Sport). Before the game finishes players will be teeing up for round three the Catalunya Championship (13:00, Sky Sports) and Mexico Championship (13:30, Sky Sports). Gloucester take on Bath at 15:00 on BT Sport, and then Manchester City kick off against Leeds is at 17:30 on Sky Sports.

IPL action gets Sunday off to a flying start, with the Delhi Capitals v Lucknow Super Giants (11:00) before Sunrisers Hyderabad v Chennai Super Kings at 15:00 (both Sky Sports). At 12:00 the third Old Firm Derby in nearly as many weeks kicks off, with Rangers knowing anything other than a win will hand the title to their bitter rivals. In the Premier League both Chelsea and Arsenal are in action, with the Blues travelling to Merseyside to face Everton (14:00, Sky Sports), while the Gunners remain in the capital as they play West Ham (16:30, Sky Sports). There’s also rugby, with Wasps against London Irish (15:00, BT Sport), and round off the weekend with the conclusion of both the Catalunya Championship (from 13:00, Sky Sports) and the Mexico Championship (17:30, Sky Sports).
