WEEK AHEAD: We reach the Australian Open final, League Cup semi-final and FA Cup fourth round in an action packed week. With all sorts of knockout action taking place over the week, sports fans aren’t left with anything to be desired.
MONDAY
The week kicks off on Monday with the sunny Australian Open blessing our screens all day on Eurosport. Many of the world’s top stars are still in the running, so make sure you check it out. In the evening, we are transported to a slightly colder Craven Cottage, where Fulham host Tottenham at 20:00 in the Premier League (Sky Sports).
TUESDAY
Tuesday is an equally quiet day with the Australian Open claiming the same spot (all day, Eurosport) before we are back with the football as Southampton welcome Newcastle in the League Cup (20:00, Sky Sports).
WEDNESDAY
Wednesday welcomes back the Australian Open all-day on Eurosport once again, and golf from the Farmers Insurance Open on the PGA Tour gets started at 17:30 on Sky Sports, before we witness another clash in the League Cup, this time between Nottingham Forest and Manchester United at 20:00 (Sky Sports).
THURSDAY
On Thursday, we start gearing up towards the weekend as the Dubai Desert Classic golf tournament tees off at 04:00 on Sky Sports, with the Farmers Open continuing from 17:00 (Sky Sports). Tennis fans are still well looked after as the Australian Open action is on throughout the day, starting at 08:00 on Eurosport.
FRIDAY
There is no escaping the sunshine on Friday as the Australian Open continues from 03:30 on Eurosport as we edge ever closer to the men’s and women’s finals this weekend. The Dubai Classic and Farmers Open both continue on Sky Sports at 04:00 and 17:30, respectively, and we see England take on South Africa in the first of three ODI’s at 11:00 (Sky Sports). Sale Sharks then face Bath in the Rugby Premiership at 19:45 on BT Sport, and Manchester City meet Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth round in one the most anticipated ties of the season (20:00, ITV).
SATURDAY
The weekend is kicks off with the golf, as the Dubai Classic and Farmers Open tee off at 05:00 and 17:30, respectively, on Sky Sports, before we reach the Australian Open women’s final, which gets going at 08:00 on Eurosport. We are then taken back to London for a big game as Charlton are paid a visit by Bolton in League One, live on Sky Sports (12:30). The Darts Masters then plays out its first day from 12:45 on ITV before Leicester collide with Northampton in the Rugby Premiership at 14:00 on BT Sport. Rugby fans are in for a treat as we get another dose straight after, with Exeter hosting Gloucester at 16:30 (BT Sport). Preston v Tottenham and Manchester United v Reading in the FA Cup is the evening entertainment from 18:00 and 20:00, respectively (BBC, ITV).
SUNDAY
Sunday follows a similar pattern, with the Dubai Classic teeing off at 05:00 (Sky Sports) before we go back to South Africa for the second ODI between South Africa and England at 08:00 on Sky Sports. Will it be Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open final at 08:00 on Eurosport? Only time will tell, the Darts Masters gets underway once again at 12:45 on ITV for those looking for some other sporting entertainment. We take a peek at the Scottish Premiership in the afternoon with two big ties in Livingston v Hearts and Dundee v Celtic at 13:30 and 16:00, respectively (Sky Sports), and Brighton meet Liverpool once again with a clash in the FA Cup also at 13:30 on ITV. London Irish then welcome Harlequins in the Rugby Premiership at 15:00 (BT Sport) before Wrexham v Sheffield United in the FA Cup rounds off a busy week from 16:30 on BBC.
