WEEK AHEAD: The football keeps on coming as the midweek European action whets the appetite for Liverpool v Man City on Sunday.

What would the week be without sport? This Monday certainly wouldn’t be as interesting if not for the evening Premier League entertainment that sees Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa kick off our busy week with a potential relegation battle where both sides will expect to take all three points. Catch it on Sky Sports at 20:00. Tune in at 01:00 for a mighty clash between Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL (Sky Sports) if you really can’t wait until the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Champions League group stage continues with AC Milan v Chelsea, which will see the Italians out for revenge after their comfortable 3-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge (20:00, BT Sport) at the same time as Celtic v RB Leipzig (BT Sport) where the Scots will have to improve on their last performance if they have any chance of making it to the knockout stages. England’s Lionesses host Czech Republic Women at the AMEX Stadium at 20:00 on ITV in front of an almost sell-out crowd to ease us through to Wednesday.

On Wednesday, England’s preparations for the T20 World Cup continue as they travel to Australia for the 2nd of their T20 fixtures at 09:10 on BT Sport before the highlight of midweek takes us to Ibrox for Rangers v Liverpool in the Champions League at 20:00 (BT Sport). The golf gets going on Thursday morning with the ZOZO Championship teeing off at 04:00 on Sky Sports though it will surely only be the hardcore fans that tune in for the start of this one. The Andalucía Masters also gets underway at 12:00 (Sky Sports) before the Europa League and Conference League fixtures kick-off.

Fiorentina v Hearts and Bodo/Glimt v Arsenal get going at 17:45, with Manchester United v Omonia Nicosia and West Ham v Anderlecht taking their places as the 20:00 fixtures (BT Sport). Spurs will look to stay on track with a win against Everton at home (17:30, Sky Sports), and old foes Watford and Norwich collide in the Championship at 19:45 on Sky Sports, though it’s the away side that will enter the field with the points advantage. Have Watford and Slaven Bilic got enough to start gaining some ground?

Sunday sees the ZOZO Championship continue at 04:00 and the Andalucia Masters close in on the final showdown (11:00, both Sky Sports), as Motherwell and Rangers clash in the Scottish Premiership and Manchester United Women take on Brighton Women in the WSL both at 12:00 (Sky Sports, BBC).
