WEEK AHEAD: With no less than 13 live Premier League fixtures crammed into this week, it’s one to savour for football fans.


It’s the American version of football that gets things underway, when the Seattle Seahawks face off with Washington in the early hours of Tuesday morning (01:00, Sky Sports).

On Tuesday evening the Premier League gets going, with a bottom of the table clash between Newcastle and Norwich, which already looks as though it could be a 6-pointer. Catch the action from 19:30 on Amazon Prime Video. There’s more upcoming on the same channel too when Leeds host Crystal Palace at 20:15.

There are six live games to choose from on Wednesday. Four kick off at 19:30, including Southampton v Leicester, Watford v Chelsea, Wolves v Burnley and a tie between two of this season’s surprise packages as Brighton travel to West Ham. The pick of the day’s games look to be two later (20:15) fixtures though, as Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa face a challenge when Man City come calling, before the Merseyside Derby from Goodison Park. On Thursday evening Antonio Conte’s Tottenham side will need to make amends after an embarrassing loss to minnows NS Mura in the Europa Conference League when they face Brentford at 19:30 (Amazon Prime Video). Then there’s an interesting clash in prospect, as new interim manager Ralf Rangnick names a Man United side to take on Arsenal at 20:15.

In the NFL, New Orleans Saints will look to end a winless streak of three games as they are on the road to face the Dallas Cowboys from 01:20, Friday morning, on Sky Sports.

On Saturday West Ham host London rivals Chelsea in a game that is likely to test the top four credentials of David Moyes’ side. They begin in an early 12:30 kick-off on BT Sport. Later in the day, Watford and Man City lock horns at 17:30 on Sky Sports.

Sunday’s action gets underway with unbeaten Leicester Tigers against Harlequins at 14:00 on BT Sport. Then Aston Villa host Leicester in a 16:30 kick-off (Sky Sports). At 17:30 many eyes will be on Lewis Hamilton as he seeks to close the gap on championship leader Max Verstappen in the penultimate race of the F1 season, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
