WEEK AHEAD: A break from the Premier League puts other sports centre stage, whilst England face Italy in the Nations League.
The week starts with a bang right on the dot of midnight on Monday evening as Tennessee Titans take on Buffalo Bills in the NFL at 00:00 (Sky Sports). As we head into the early hours of Tuesday, there’s another cracker of an NFL tie at 01:00 as the Minnesota Vikings host the Philadelphia Eagles also on Sky Sports.
Tuesday is a relatively quiet day though the much anticipated seven-match T20 series between England and Pakistan begins with the first offering at 15:30 (Sky Sports).
Scotland v Ukraine in the Nations League at 19:45 (ITV) is the only sporting event of note on Wednesday. Can the Scots get back on the right track after their World Cup disappointment?
Thursday sees the Open de France tee off for the first time at 11:30 (Sky Sports) before the T20 series between Pakistan and England continues, with the second match at 15:30 on Sky Sports. There is more for the golf fans as the Presidents Cup, between the US and Rest of the World teams, gets started from Quail Hollow at 17:30 (Sky Sports). The Nations League throws up another exciting tie with World Cup-qualified Belgium hosting Wales live on S4C at 19:45. Another NFL fixture in Pittsburgh Steelers v Cleveland Browns pushes us through to the early hours at 00:30 on Sky Sports.
On Friday, the Open de France and Presidents Cup continue on their second day on the fairways at 11:30 and 16:30, respectively (Sky Sports), before Pakistan and England begin their third T20 match in the series at 15:30 (Sky Sports). Italy v England is the highlight of the weekend for football fans as the two giants collide in the Nations League (19:45, Channel 4). Bath v Wasps in the Rugby Premiership is an alternative route to Saturday as they face off on BT Sport from 19:45.
Golf will dominate Saturday lunchtime as the third day of the Presidents Cup and the Open de France are shown at 12:00 and 12:30 respectively (Sky Sports) before the north London derby in the WSL, Arsenal v Tottenham, graces our screens at 13:30 (BBC). Northampton Saints v Leicester Tigers in the Rugby Premiership is a mid-afternoon cracker at 15:00 on BT Sport, setting us up for the Super League Grand Final, at 17:00 (Sky Sports). A heavyweight boxing clash for the ages in Joe Joyce v Joseph Parker is the beginning of an entertaining evening (18:00, BT Sport) before Scotland and the Republic of Ireland meet in the Nations League at 19:45 (Premier Sports).
The Open de France and Presidents Cup enter their final day on Sunday at 12:30 and 17:00, respectively (Sky Sports), while Exeter Chiefs face Harlequins at 15:00 in a clash in the Rugby Premiership (BT Sport). Pakistan and England’s T20 series continues for the fourth fixture at 15:30 on Sky Sports, just before another two massive ties in the WSL between Chelsea and Manchester City and Liverpool and Everton, at 16:00 and 18:45 on Sky Sports. Wales face Poland in the Nations League at 19:45 (S4C), and the San Francisco 49ers take on the Denver Broncos to close out the week in style (01:20, Sky Sports).
