WEEK AHEAD: After a whirlwind month of non-stop Euros action, its only right that we’re allowed to recover from Sunday’s final in a peaceful way. 

With the action coming thick and fast from all corners of the sporting globe recently, we unusually get started this week with a free Monday where emotions can recover from Sunday nights final. However, the action doesn’t stop for long as we’re right back into the thick of it come

Tuesday, and the cricket fans out there don’t have to wait long to see the West Indies and Australia T20 get underway as the events will unfold from 00:15 on BT Sport. Back in England and later in the day we are treated to another ODI between England and Pakistan before the rearranged Diamond League can be seen live from Newcastle on the BBC at 16:00. 

Wednesday brings with it a warm-up fixture from the British and Irish Lions tour as they prepare to take on South Africa A on Sky Sports, where Warren Gatland will be hoping to find some clues as to who makes that all important starting XV. 

We’re back to the Caribbean on Thursday for another instalment from the West Indies and Australia T20 series as both sides will be hopeful of a bold showing before the T20 World Cup this autumn. Also getting underway on Thursday is the big one for golf fans all over the world as The Open Championship begins on Sky Sports. John Rahm appears to be in the form of his life and looks likely to head into the final Major of the year a well fancied favourite. All the action can be seen up to then on Sky Sports from 06:30. 

There’s another offering of T20 cricket on Friday as England again play host to Pakistan and begin the 20 over part of the tour. Lancashire and Yorkshire pick up the T20 baton on Saturday as they fight it out in the Battle of the Roses on Sky Sports. Getting underway at the same time is the Lions prep game against the Stormers. 

Rounding out the week on Sunday is, of course, the final days’ play in The Open along with all the action from Silverstone as Lewis Hamilton looks to get his season back on track at the circuit he’s dominated in recent years. Finishing the day off is another T20 between Ben Stokes’ England side and Pakistan. 

It’s a week without the intensity we’ve become accustomed to, but it certainly doesn’t lack in quality.
