WEEK AHEAD: A cracking seven days of sport lies ahead as the T20 World Cup and Champions League excitement levels go up a notch whilst F1 returns at the weekend in Mexico.

England have been in inspired form in their T20 World Cup matches so far and they will be confident of securing qualification from Group 1 when they play Sri Lanka in the fourth of their five group games at 14:00 on Monday on Sky Sports. After that there’s Premier League action at 20:00 when Wolves take on Everton. The action continues into the early hours of Tuesday with the NFL when the New York Giants are up against the Kansas City Chiefs at 00:00.

Tuesday’s action is football focused, with matchday four in the Champions League getting underway. Both Man United and Chelsea face their opponents from two weeks earlier, Atalanta and Malmo. First up it’s Chelsea at 17:00, and they will be hoping for more of the same after their 4-0 win over the Swedes two weeks ago. At 19:45, Manchester United will be hoping for an easier victory than their hard fought 3-2 win. Catch the action live on BT Sport.

Scotland’s challenge at the T20 World Cup looks all but over and they face a tough assignment against New Zealand at 10:00 on Wednesday morning. Then there’s more Champions League action on BT Sport, with Liverpool v Atletico Madrid and Man City v Club Brugge. Coverage starts from 19:00, with both games having a 20:00 kick-off.

Thursday is a busy day on both channels. Golfers tee off in the Portugal Masters from 12:00 on Sky Sports, and then in the Mayakoba Golf Classic, won last year by Viktor Hovland, in Mexico from 19:00. Over on BT Sport there’s the Europa League to think about, with five games. Rangers and West Ham are away from home in two 17:45 kick-offs, before Spurs, Leicester and Celtic are in action at 20:00.

On Friday, Scotland face more tough opposition in the cricket when they take on India at 14:00. There’s also a Friday night kick off in the Premier League when Aston Villa travel to St Mary’s to take on Southampton, live from 20:00 on Sky Sports.

It’s round three in both the Portugal Masters and the Mayakoba Golf Classic on Saturday, live on Sky Sports from 12:00 and 18:00 respectively. Manchester United will be eager to atone for their five-goal humiliation at Liverpool when they face Manchester City at 12:30. Brighton continue to impress in the league, but their opposition Newcastle will have ambitions to get swiftly off the foot of the table, when they play at 17:00. Before that watch England hit it up against South Africa in their final T20 group game at 14:00.

An action-packed Sunday brings the week to a close. Dundee face a rejuvenated Celtic side at 12:00, before more football on Sky Sports when Arsenal are in action against Claudio Ranieri’s Watford at 14:00. Then it’s the turn of West Ham and Liverpool at 16:30, in what should be a good match between two in form sides. On Sky Sports at 19:00 catch the Mexico City Grand Prix and, not far away, the conclusion of the Mayakoba Golf Classic.
