WEEK AHEAD: With the old firm in action, England and India’s third Test, and a big F1 rivalry to look forward to this week, tempers are bound to fray in these pressured fixtures.
It’s a mellow start to the week in comparison to the end of it, as we catch the final stages of West Indies and Pakistan on day 4 of their Test match which carries into Tuesday, should it go the distance, while West Ham and Leicester provide the evening’s entertainment.
In what hopefully won’t have a damp squib feel to it following the success of the Hundred, Yorkshire take on Sussex in the quarter finals of the Vitality Blast at the Riverside stadium on Tuesday evening while Barrow AFC host Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup, where both fixtures can be seen on Sky Sports.
England and India begin their third Test on Wednesday, and after a tight finish to the second Test where tempers were frayed, this looks set to be a thriller at Headingly, all five days can be seen on Sky Sports from 11:00. Nottinghamshire and Hampshire take part in their portion of the Vitality Blast quarter finals later in the day and West Brom host Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.
Thursday signals the start of two golf tournaments that look set to be great contests, the European Masters is the first to start at 12:30 while the BMW Championship which is always sure-fire entertainment gets underway at 15:30. Both tournaments can be seen in full on Sky Sports until their conclusion on Sunday.
Another round of T20 brings us into the weekend as Kent and Warwickshire look to book a semi-final spot, before Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off between Manchester City and Arsenal really sets things off. Pep’s side will look to take advantage of a struggling Arsenal and pick up three-points at the Etihad. Liverpool and Chelsea are then in action later in what should be a tactical thriller between managers Tuchel and Klopp.
On Sunday Rangers and Celtic begin the day of rest where there looks little time for resting. In what is always a passionate meeting between the Scottish sides this should be no different. Burnley and Leeds United kick off in the afternoon while simultaneously the Belgian Grand Prix gets underway where Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton will no doubt be locking horns again. Seeing us out for the week is Wolves and Manchester United live from Molineaux.
It’s a week that guarantees action and spice in all corners.
