WORLD CUP: We preview Saturday’s third place play-off between BELGIUM v ENGLAND with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

3pm Unfortunately for England fans they couldn’t beat Croatia on Wednesday night and now have to settle for the Third Place Playoff. Usually there isn’t much interest in this game; however with England in action there’s bound to always be a lot of debate and hopefully we can find some winners in the markets!
We’ve already seen these two teams play against each other in the Group stages of the competition, however it’s nearly impossible to read too much into that game as the loser got the easier draw. That didn’t matter to Belgium though who managed to beat the tournament favourites Brazil; and if both sides played their first XI’s here you’d have to say that Belgium definitely have more class in their side.
That is a difficult question to ponder though; will we see the first XI’s here? Usually managers opt to give a chance to players who have missed out on some game time at the World Cup and give them a run out in the tournament. Obviously both sides rested players against each other in the Group stage, and perhaps we’ll see strong sides this time around.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Belgium 2.24, England 3.35 and the draw is 3.85. These games tend to see a lot of goals as teams are more carefree in their approach – after all who remembers who finishes third at the World Cup – and over 2.5 goals is trading 1.67 while under 2.5 is 2.46.
We expect this to be a very entertaining game with plenty of chances for both sides. While England have had a great run at this World Cup, they haven’t scored as many goals as they possibly could have. They have scored very little from open play too and in an open game, we can see Belgium simply out-scoring England here. They look too big at 2.24 given what we have seen in this World Cup and we’re very happy to take those odds.
