WORLD CUP PLAYOFFS: We preview Sunday’s second leg games between SWITZERLAND v NORTHERN IRELAND and GREECE v CROATIA with recommended BETDAQ bets.
SWITZERLAND V NORTHERN IRELAND
5pm You have to feel sorry for Northern Ireland coming here 1-0 down after the poor penalty decision in the first leg. However, that’s over and done with now, and they have to go to Switzerland and do a job. Switzerland are heavy favourites to win in 90 minutes, with the match odds at the time of writing; Switzerland 1.44, Northern Ireland 11.5 and the draw is 4.4.
Looking at the stats, Northern Ireland have an extremely difficult job here to cause a shock. Switzerland have won their last seven at home, and kept a clean sheet in five of those sevens games too. You couldn’t be that impressed with Northern Irelands away record either, as they have only won away to minnows recently. Everything points to a Swiss victory here, and its hard to see Northern Ireland improving from the first leg when they had home advantage – the 1.44 on offer for the home win is a few ticks too big and we’re happy to back it.

GREECE V CROATIA
7.45pm We felt that Greece could give Croatia a tough night in the first leg given their defensive record, however it was an easy night for Croatia as they ran out 4-1 winners. Given that most of Greece’s success has been built around their defense rather than attack, this tie looks as good as over after the first leg.
Croatia will probably approach the game a little cagey given they are so far ahead, all they have to do is not concede plenty of goals! Even so, they simply look too big in the market here at 2.22. As we seen in the first, they were easy able to find a way through Greece at the back, and it’s hard not to see them doing similar here given that Greece have to chase the game too. The 2.22 is way too big and we’re happy to back that.
