WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS: We preview Friday’s two games between SWEDEN v FRANCE and LATVIA v PORTUGAL with recommended BETDAQ bets.
SWEDEN V FRANCE
7.45pm We kick off the weekend’s World Cup Qualifier action with a top of the table clash in Group A. France are odds on favourites, however there are reasons to feel that they are a little short in the market. The odds at the time of writing currently trade; Sweden 6.0, France 1.74 and the draw is 3.75. A win here would almost certainly give France top spot, however Sweden are unbeaten at home in qualification thus far, and have scored 11 while only conceding once in their last four games here.
There’s no doubt that Sweden are tricky opposition and looking at France’s away record we feel that the 1.74 on the away win is simply too short, and you have to think that the game will be closer than those odds suggest. France have only won two of their last four, and they couldn’t beat Belarus away from home in qualifying earlier on. Sweden gave France a good run for their money at the Stade de France and we’re happy to lay the 1.74 on France away from home from a value point of view.

LATVIA V PORTUGAL
7.45pm After getting beaten by Switzerland in their first World Cup Qualifying game, Portugal have been foot perfect. Unfortunately for Portugal though, Switzerland have been foot perfect too and still top the group by three points. Maybe it is because the other sides in the group are weak, but since that opening defeat Portugal have looked the better side – putting plenty of goals past the smaller sides, and now have over double the goal difference of Switzerland.
Portugal are obviously hot favourites, and are around 1.15 to win in 90 minutes. In their last five World Cup Qualifying games, Portugal have scored a whopping 24 goals – only failing to score four or more once in these five games. With that in mind, the 2.5 on Any Other Away Win in the correct score market definitely looks good value, and that will be our best bet.
