FRIDAY’S WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS: We preview three matches on Friday with a recommended BETDAQ bet including the headliner game England v Scotland.
England v Scotland
7.45pm It’s not often that the home nations clash in an important game so this is one to look forward to. England boss Gareth Southgate will be hoping for a better performance than England’s last game away to Slovenia, but back at Wembley they should be able to put this Scotland side away. However at odds of 1.39, we want to look around for something a big bigger in price.
We noted in our preview before the last International break, that with yet another change of manager England might have been a bit dis-jointed with their play and that was somewhat the case. We’re still not convinced that they will be better here too, and with Scotland nearly certain to set up quite defensively, we could be in for a cagey start to the game. Under 2.5 goals is 1.91 at the moment and we feel that offers superb value, England have kept 10 clean sheets in their last 14 wins in Wembley and we expect a 1-0 or 2-0 England win here. It’s also worth checking the price of 0-0 in the half time markets closer to kick off.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.91.

Northern Ireland v Azerbaijan
7.45pm Azerbaijan arrive to face Northern Ireland off the back of a solid 0-0 draw away to the Czech Republic and a win against Norway, they also sit unbeaten in second in Group C, so they are obviously not to be underestimated. With that in mind, it’s slightly surprised to see Northern Ireland as short at 1.66 in the match odds market. Of course Northern Ireland have improved in recent times, but this is a solid Azerbaijan team who we feel can out perform their odds here. However, the success which Northern Ireland have got over the past while has mainly come from being very solid at the back, so we’d like to have the draw on side here too, in what could be a cagey affair with few chances – at the odds we feel there is good value in the Northern Ireland lay at 1.66.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
Lay Northern Ireland at 1.66.

France v Sweden
7.45pm After getting their World Cup Qualifying campaign off to a disappointing start with a 0-0 draw to Belarus, France have bounced back strongly beating Bulgaria 4-1 and Holland 1-0 away from home. This should be an interesting clash as Sweden sit second at the moment in Group A, with the exact same points and group record as France, so everything is up for grabs. The match odds at the time of writing currently stand at France 1.28, Sweden 16.0 and the draw 6.2. They feel just about right, Sweden struggled to a 1-0 away win over Luxembourg and are still feeling the effects of being without their talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic. We feel that France should win here but at 1.28, we prefer the handicap with France 1.85 -1.5 goals – they should be able to win by two clear goals at home.
BETDAQ BEST BET:
France -1.5 goals to beat Sweden at 1.85.
