WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS SATURDAY: We preview three World Cup Qualifiers on Saturday with a recommended BETDAQ bet: England v Malta, Northern Ireland v San Marino and Scotland v Lithuania.

England v Malta

5pm England find themselves coming back from another embarrassing drama with Sam Allardyce only lasting one match as manager after the Telegraph corruption in football sting. Gareth Southgate comes in as interim manager and if we’re all being honest, we won’t find out much about his tactics or indeed England’s level of play here as they face the lowly Malta. England are currently priced at 1.02 in the 90 minutes market and it would be one of the shocks of the century if they didn’t win – the question is how many can they score? Given the situation England will probably put in a slightly dis-joined performance but with Malta shipping five to Scotland at home in their first World Cup Qualifier you can expect plenty of England goals here, Any Other Home Win is 1.5 in the correct score market and that is big enough for us to back.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
England to score 4 or more and win (Any other Home Win, Correct Score) at 1.5.

Northern Ireland v San Marino

7.45pm Northern Ireland put in yet another solid defensive display securing a 0-0 draw away from home against the Czech Republic in their opening game, however it will be their skills going forward here that will be needed against San Marino. Northern Ireland are currently priced at 1.03 in the 90 minutes market so obviously attention draws to the handicap markets and the question of how many goals will we see. San Marino have lost 70 of their last 71 and have scored only once in their last 37 away from home, they are a long way away from being competitive and the 10-0 beating Croatia handed to them in June is a sign of that, Switzerland were able to put seven past them too – it’s reasonable to suggest that Northern Ireland can score a few here and over 3.5 goals appeals at around the 1.6 mark.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Over 3.5 goals at 1.6.

Scotland v Lithuania

7.45pm This could end up to be a very similar match to the Ireland v Georgia one the other night, as you would expect Scotland to win but at the same time for Lithuania to make it harder work than the odds of 1.46 on Scotland would suggest. Lithuania found themselves 2-0 up in their opening World Cup Qualifier only to finish 2-2 while Scotland recorded an easy win against Malta. The thing that could be the massive difference here is Scotland’s home record, especially at the back – they’ve won seven of their last ten while keeping a clean sheet in seven of their last eight wins at home – we like under 2.5 goals at 1.8 as we expect Scotland to be solid at the back without finding too many gaps going forward – it’s also worth checking out the price on a 1-0 home win in the correct score market closer to kick off.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 1.8.
