16-1 DAQMAN GRABS GRAND 10-LENGTHS WINNER: The man for the big occasion, the people’s tipster for the people’s exchange, Daqman stormed 10 lengths clear of the other tipsters in the Grand National Trial field at Haydock yesterday with Rigadin De Beauchene (WON 16-1), whose odds he described as ‘massive’.
HE LEADS PRICEWISE 12-3 THIS YEAR: It puts him 12-3 ahead of Pricewise of the Racing Post this year, and 23-7 up since he challenged the trade-paper columnist on November 23rd. Here are his 23 returns in the Pricewise challenge:

Here is your starter for Ten. The three feature races at Navan today may be billed as festival trials but, in fact, only the race named after the 1975 Gold Cup winner, Ten Up, has produced the big future winners.
2.10 Navan (Ladbrokes Boyne Hurdle) Willie Mullins goes for a hat-trick in this but his winners in 2012 and 2013 both failed to go on to victory at any one of the big festivals of Cheltenhan, Aintree and Punchestown.
That’s par for the course for this race. Solid winners but no championship pointers since Golden Cross (2006) went on to finish a good second in the World Hurdle.
You’d certainly not mark down Zaidpour for Cheltenham, even if he wins this, as his festival form at Prestbury Park is 00P.
Cheekpieces are back on after his Galmoy disappointment at Gowran Park, returning to a track today where he is one from one (the Tara Hurdle of 2011) but giving weight all round as a Grade-1 winner twice (the Hattons Grace and the Christmas Hurdle).
All Zaidpour’s success since he broke his maiden have been in small fields (six runners twice, five three times and four twice), and Bog Warrior’s withdrawal this morning puts him back in that arena, and leaves the two-miler Dunguib as his main market rival over this 2m 5f.
Dunguib hasn’t won for three years and his recent return at Naas, when third, was described by trainer Philip Fenton only as ‘a bit of light at the end of the tunnel.’ Hardly a glowing forecast, particularly as Dunguib had won when three times before when fresh.
But that race does serve as a recommendation for the runner-up, the mare, Jennies Jewel, who had previously taken a handicap on today’s course off 134.
Strictly on the ratings, that Naas second (behind World Hurdle hope Rule The World) puts her somewhere between 154 and 167, based on Dunguib – nine lengths adrift and worse off today – and Rathlin.
Though that cannot be right, to keep her on 139 was wrong and today she gets a stone from the 158-rated Zaidpour, and 7lb each from Minsk and Un Beau Matin, both racing off 134.
What’s more, Jennies Jewel hasn’t been out of the frame in 12 consecutive starts and, as a seven-year-old, is the youngster bar one and likely to show further improvement.
She’s 6.4 on BETDAQ this morning to Zaidpour’s even money. That’s too big and I can back her at that and save on the favourite.
3.10 Navan (Flyingbolt Novice Chase) This race has managed an Arkle fourth but nothing to shout about in its recent history. Only one favourite has scored in a decade.
Foxrock’s form for the Ten Up is on a line through Bright New Dawn, who was behind him at Leopardstown (3m), while Mallowney and Irish Thistle represent Trifolium and Felix Yonger from a 2m 1f novice chase, also at Leopardstown.
With not much between Bright New Dawn and Mallowney at the front of the BETDAQ market this morning, I found it too tight for a bet.
3.45 Navan (Ten Up Novice Chase) This race threw up Snowy Morning, the 2007 RSA runner-up to Denman, and Irish Grand National winner, Lion Na Bearnai (2012), while the 2011 scorer, Quito De La Roque, would go on to win the Mildmay at Aintree and the Champion Novice Chase at the Punchestown Festival.
All eyes are on Foxrock today, bookies’ favourite for the NH Chase at Cheltenham. He’s certainly bred for a trip, as a son of Flemensfirth out of a Roselier mare.
Clar Na Mionn and My Murphy (holds Civena) have both finished behind Foxrock recently but Cootamundra, though having his first senior chases, won the Troytown and was fifth in the Thyestes.
In seemingly a two-horse race today, Foxrock must win to enhance his festival chances but, to value-hunters, Cootamundra is big at 7.2 on BETDAQ this morning for what’s in the form book.
Since I’m opposing two hotpots with my win bets in the Boyne Hurdle and in this Ten Up, I shall bring them back into my calculations by mixing and matching them with my selections.
So I shall take Foxrock and Cootamundra in Daq Multiples with Zaidpour and Jennies Jewel for doubles that could be very rewarding or merely act as extra cover.
4.40 Kempton Wait for it! Here’s the best horse of the day, My Tent Or Yours, running in a ‘jumper’s bumper,’ away from the mud-and-guts racing over the sticks.
Tony McCoy tells his Telegraph readers that this is ‘perfect for him’, an ideal way to take the freshness out of him before Cheltenham but a race which demands his concentration.
My Tent Or Yours is likely to start long odds-on and, in fact, it was 52.0 bar two this morning on BETDAQ, a chance to find a place bet with offers giving a return far bigger than the win from the favourite.
Dispour is a front-runner who ran well on Polytrack in France and has tackled Graded hurdles over here, getting all the allowances yet 52.0 this morning.
That was another ‘wrong’ price, and I shall nap him for a place. After all, he’s come down from Cheshire to go for the prizemoney, whereas the hotpot is there for a quick sweat, a Kempton work-out before he shows his prowess at Cheltenham.
DAQMAN’S BETS (all bets to win 20 points, except Daq Multiples)
