ABSENT PARISH: SHAMROCK’s Sunday NAP Parish Hall was a non runner in the Listed race at the Curragh which went to 66/1 chance Indigo Lady.
Non runner yesterday with Parish Hall and who knows what might have happened but the TRM Silver Stakes threw up the shock of the day when the 66/1 chance Indigo Lady won and 20/1 and 14/1 shots filled the frame.
The winner was given a positive front running ride from Seamie Heffernan and held on gamely.
Winning trainer Willie McCreery said: “Some of the credit must go to Camelot, as she is about 40 days in foal to him. She’s blossomed and strengthened up. She was going home tomorrow if she didn’t perform well today.”
There’s a mixed card at Roscommon this evening.
My best bet runs in the opening maiden at 6.00. The Kevin Prendergast trained Abushamah just about brings the best form into the race.
He is currently trading at around 7 on BETDAQ in an open betting heat. Abushamah is a maiden after five starts and was a well beaten fifth at Gowran Park last time out but the key today might the drop back to seven furlongs. He raced over this trip on debut but has been running over longer distances since then.
Texas Rock is still due to run, he was second over 6f at the Curragh yesterday – so you have yesterday’s exertions to worry about plus with him I’m not convinced the extra furlong will suit.
Biggest danger is probably Rousayan who was a fair fifth at Limerick and is trained by Dermot Weld.
