The opener at Naas this afternoon provides an interesting match-up in the shape of Cape Clear Island and Dandyleekie.
Narrow preference is for Dandyleekie who was upset in the stalls whens second to the useful Dick Whittigton at Navan. He was 4 1/4 lengths back in second but six lengths clear of the third.
Dick Whittington has gone on to finish third in the Chesham Stakes and a winner of a Group 3 at the Curragh. Aidan O’Brien trains him and also today’s main danger Cape Clear Island who only scrambled home to win a maiden at Fairyhouse by a nose at the prohibitive odds of 1/5.
BETDAQ has Cape Clear Island at 2.02 and Dandyleekie at 2.32. I think these odds should be reversed.
