EURO 2016 MONDAY: The final two games in Group B and they kick off simultaneously at 8pm. Russia v Wales and Slovakia v England. We preview both games.
Russia v Wales
8pm It’s surprising to see Russia as favourites here given the teams first two matches. England played Russia off the park in their opening game and then they went on to lose to Slovakia, while Wales put up a decent show against England – admittedly they sat back too much when ahead and invited England onto them ending up with conceding a late England goal, but before that they started their campaign well beating Slovakia.
We think the odds are the wrong way around here and Wales at 3.0 is the best bet in the 90 minutes market, however they’re also odds against in the draw-no-bet market which we think offers way more value – it’s hard to see this Russian side beating Wales, as Russia have been so poor in the tournament to date – and we’re very happy to get Wales draw-no-bet at 2.08.
BETDAQ best bet:
Wales draw-no-bet to beat Russia at 2.08.
Some Russia v Wales facts:
- Russia have only managed one win in their last seven matches.
- Russia have only kept two clean sheets in their 17 games at the European Championships.
- Since the start of the Euro 2016 qualifiers, Gareth Bale has scored or assisted 11 of Wales’ 14 goals in competitive matches.

Slovakia v England
8pm England have played well in their opening two games and there’s no reason to think that they shouldn’t play well here – perhaps they can play even better with a few changes to the line-up too, we feel that Sterling wouldn’t be a loss to the team and someone can certainly come in and improve on what he’s done so far. But at around the 1.88 mark, we are happy to support England again who should have too much class for this Slovakia side.
On the over/under 2.5 goals front, it’s a tricky one on this game – England games have seen plenty of action thus far and we wouldn’t be keen on unders at 1.58, overs makes more appeal at 2.68 however we feel that the 1.88 on England offers the best value.
BETDAQ best bet:
England to beat Slovakia at 1.88.
Some Slovakia v England facts:
- Jamie Vardy is England’s top goalscorer in 2016.
- Slovakia have never kept a clean sheet at a major tournament.
- England are unbeaten in 90 minutes in their last 11 games at the European Championships.
