Won prestigious Dr Busch-Memorial at the Berlin Hoppegarten on his return. Acts on any going. Dam’s sire Lomitas (Niniski) was responsible for the Arc de Triomphe winner, Danedream. Two-year-olds make big improvement from two to three.
🏇 VICTOR LUDORUM (1113 Andre Fabre) French 2,000 Guineas, Monday, June 1; colt by stallion of the moment Shamardal. Won three in a row including the Lagardere at the Arc meeting, when he beat Alson, Armoury, Ecrivain and Helter Skelter.
Only third on reappearance to The Summit and Ecrivain in the Fontainebleau but the ground was very soft and connections expect to reverse the form in the Guineas, which would be the third consecutive time that has happened.
🏇 ARIZONA (2114320 Aidan O’Brien) English 2,000 Guineas, June 6. Closed down on Pinatubo from nine lengths in the National Stakes (September 7f) to two lengths in the Dewhurst, partly down to the slower surface, partly because he was allowed to stride on and make Pinatubo work. Did a lot for a two-year-old (seven races) but then so did Pinatubo (six), who had less scope in his frame than Arizona.
🏇 KINROSS (10 Ralph Beckett) English 2,000 Guineas, June 6; by star miler Kingman out of a Selkirk mare who was also trained by Beckett.
Not seen until eight lengths winner over big field at Newmarket in October. Beaten favourite in Newcastle Futurity (on Tapeta surface) after dwelt at the start. Said to have done well over the winter.

🏇 DEMOCRACY (22 Peter Schiergen) The two-year-old champion at Baden Baden, No Time Limit, only just held on, driven out, in the top fillies’ trial at Cologne on May 17, but those who saw the race are convinced that the neck runner-up Democracy would get her revenge in the German 1,000 Guineas on June 21

⭕ 2.15 Clairefontaine Patrice Quinton who scored with Dolut at Moulins yesterday seems to have Katy Love (form figures 12110) poised for a tilt at this. BETDAQ 7.5 this morning.
Back-to-back winner at Pau at the turn of the year, she encountered bad ground and hot company at Auteuil two weeks ago.
The trainer and jockey combo connected with Via Maresca had a winner on May 10 but nothing since for either one. As a two-time winner going for her first handicap, she is still a danger.
But perhaps less so than James Reveley’s ride, Jugeotte, another back-to-back winner early in the year, who was second in an Auteuil handicap on the last day.
She led most of the way but just couldn’t hold on after the final fence. Take a position at 9.0 on BETDAQ and think in terms of back and lay.
⭕ 4.00 Clairefontaine Patrice Quinton should again be in the shake-up here, three-handed with Edalka De Kerser, Funky Du Mestivel and Fret d’Estruval, an improver under Kevin Nabet.
But the handicapper has taken a chance with 6.5 BETDAQ offer Enola Gay (James Reveley for Yannick Fouin), who is 7lb better off for three lengths with Guyonne at Cagnes and 8lb better with Dashing Filly (a sparkling winner since), who was fifth.
A Wincanton winner a year ago for Venetia Williams, Enola Gay gets 10lb from the Angers scorer, Prince De Bellouet, and this butterfly in France (three runs: 222) should emerge and spread his wings on the drying ground which he needs.
⭕ 5.45 Clairefontaine Francois Nicolle is ‘doing a Paul Nicholls’, 57 winners and near-unbeatable with his young chasers. Among them, High King is an improver to follow.
Paul Nicholls took over Solo who beat High King at Auteuil last year before leaving Guillaume Macaire and winning at Kempton first time for the Ditcheat squad prior to a tilt at the Triumph Hurdle.
By association, High King clearly had a touch of class to take to fences, scoring at Toulouse and now taken in hand by jockey of the moment Angelo Zuliani.
The danger today is Macaire himself with yet another of his young protegees, Sa Carlex; three wins from six and a third top ride of the afternoon for James Reveley.
Can she transfer this kind of form to fences or does she make a price (3.0 on BETDAQ) for High King? She was well beaten off today’s weight at Fontainebleau first time over the bigger obstacles.

Made To Lead has won for three different trainers and the mare now has her second race for Edouard Lyon, after a half-length defeat in a claimer on the last day.
That outing 17 days ago should set her up for this but it makes Incitatus look big at 5.0 against even money the favourite.
⭕ 8.00 Dieppe Capla Gilda for trainer-in-form Andrea Marcialis is the improving four-year-old of the party and has Pierre-Charles Boudot in the saddle.
Has won before after a break, and seemingly has only the inconsistent older horse, On The Sea, to beat. Capla Gilda was 2.62 on BETDAQ this morning.
