8pm The midweek action continues in La Liga on Wednesday with the Champions Real Madrid in action as they travel to take on Elche. Real Madrid will fully be expected to win this fixture, and they are trading as short as 1.31 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange at the time of writing. Real Madrid come into this game on a high – they put on a fantastic display at the weekend when beating Barcelona 3-1 in El Clasico, and then their star man Karim Benzema won the Ballon d’Or this week too. That was fully deserved given all his goals when leading Real Madrid to a win in the Champions League last season!
That win over Barcelona leaves Real three points clear at the top of the table, and to be honest they look like they will be lifting the title again this season. It’s only three points so we won’t get ahead of ourselves, but they have been playing some superb football. Even in the game when they dropped points against Osasuna they were very unlucky. That game finished 1-1 after the International break but Real finished the game with an xG of 2.87.
Elche come into this fixture nailed to the bottom of the table, and they are the only team left in La Liga who have yet to win a fixture this season. They have managed to put two draws together coming into this game, but the last team you want to see when you are getting a little detached at the bottom of the table is Real Madrid! Even in those two games, they were pretty lucky to get two draws. Probably the most worrying performance was the 1-1 draw at home to Mallorca – they conceded an xG of 2.97 and we all know that Mallorca are pretty average.
When you’re conceding that volume of chances to Mallorca, what are Real Madrid going to do! You can’t knock the performances from Real Madrid this season and they have been so impressive going forward. Their average xG in La Liga this season is 2.5 and they are only conceding 1.1. What can you say about those figures other than they are exceptional. With Elche at the other end of the table, you can expect the reverse figures however the Elche figures make for very bad reading.
Elche are conceding an average xG of 3.0 this season which is extremely high and very worrying for them too. They are extremely likely to go down this season with figures like that – I usually say you don’t win many games conceding two goals per game, never mind three! They are creating an xG of under 1 on average too. I can only see a comfortable Real win here, and while I’m not going to tip them at around 1.3, I couldn’t put anyone off including them in any Betdaq Multiple. For my best bet here I really like Real to cover the 1.5 goal handicap at 1.86. We have landed quite a few Max Bets recently, and the 1.86 is worth another here!
