BREEDERS CUP COUNTDOWN DAY ONE: Now look out every day for your Breeders Cup countdown and expect Daqman’s BETDAQ-value verdict for Keeneland on both Friday and Saturday.

BREEDERS CUP FRIDAY: TURF GOING: FIRM

⭕ 7.00 Keeneland (Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint) Abbaye winner The Platinum Queen leads the English challenge, but is drawn widest of all in stall 12.

Dramatised tries to confirm Queen Mary form with Love Reigns, trained Wesley Ward, winning handler of this juvenile sprint for three years running.

Love Reigns led the Queen Mary (good to firm) until Dramatised took over a furlong out, and finished three-lengths fourth.

⭕ 8.20 Keeneland (Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf) The home side usually wins this but Aidan O’Brien has a strong contender in Cheveley Park runner-up Meditate.

Richard Fahey, who is responsible for The Platinum Queen in the Sprint, now runs the unbeaten filly Midnight Mile, by No Nay Never out of a Galileo mare but also gets a wide draw: 12 out of 14.

⭕ 9.40 Keeneland (Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf) Last year’s winner at Del Mar was Modern Games, who won this year’s French 2,000 Guineas, and this autumn has landed the Woodbine Mile and run second in the Champions Mile.

Charlie Appleby and William Buick try to follow up on Friday with Silver Knott, who boosted the Champagne form of Chaldean by winning the Group 3 Autumn Stakes from subsequent Futurity runner-up, Epictetus.

DREAMING OF TOP STABLE IN FORM

⭕ 3.37 Musselburgh today (Prince Philip Challenge Cup) Here’s a new race a few yards short of 4m, in response to the request for more staying chases.

Wake Up Early won at Fakenham (3m 5f) and got only a 3lb rise for it but the handicapper couldn’t ignore his 16-lengths strike at Fakenham: he’s been hit for another 10lb.

Flying Verse, a powerful Yeats, can get a strong ride from Brian Hughes, after enjoying a lenient weight mark to score at Stratford a couple of weeks back, taking him up the handicap again by 7lb.

Stylish Moment was kept to shorter distances by Eoin Doyle in Ireland but, after wind surgery, was placed in a 3m 2f hurdle for his new yard, Lucinda Russell’s in Scotland.

Back to chasing, Stylish Moment stayed on well over Carlisle’s stiff 3m in mid-October, finishing only half a length behind Court Dreaming, though giving that one 11lb.

Not much difference in the weights today and the race could be between the two, with Court Dreaming’s Nicky Richards’ stable in top form (currently striking at 36%).

Lucinda Russell makes life difficult for the punter by also running Rapid Raider at the bottom end of the handicap.

Rapid Raider, who landed a hat-trick at this time in 2021, continued to go well in the Spring, scoring over 3m 4f at Kelso, and he had a run back in September.

Cheekpieces first time and Alan Doyle’s 5lb claim will help but the forecast rain won’t: his form on terrain worse than good to soft is 0000040.

Top-weight Coup De Pinceau is a stone higher than when winning a 4m Cheltenham hunter-chase in the Spring but his amateur rider’s claim also helps.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 4.3 Court Dreaming

TIZZARD GOING FOR A FIVE-TIMER

⭕ 3.52 Chepstow Here’s another top stable in form. Joe Tizzard is on a roll with four winners in a row this week already at three different venues.

You could risk his 17-race maiden, Faustinovick, in the opening race at Chepstow today or Triple Trade (2.52) in his novice-chase debut; he’s won when fresh though needs buckets of rain.

But my news is for Sixty Dollars More (3.52), who wasn’t given a hard time as a five–year-old and is unexposed in first-time cheekpieces. Karakoram is reliable and back to his right trip, so he is my saver.

BETDAQ value 6 Karakoram, 12.5 Sixty Dollars More

ON-FIRE BET AT KEMPTON TONIGHT

⭕ 6.30 Kempton Soar Above loves the course at Kempton: he’s won here over 6f five times and 7f three times.

Gavi Di Gavi is good here, too, but lower down the ladder in classes 4 and 5. Top Secret is hot at Ascot but ran well here the last day, though I prefer his younger stablemate Mitrosonfire.

BETDAQ 5.3 offer Mitrosonfire, a winner in class 2 over July Course at Newmarket on his first attempt at 7f, met the classy Lir Speciale here at Kempton a month back and was not disgraced, runner-up giving away weight.

Bear Force One (BETDAQ 7.3) broke his maiden here over today’s CD and has since scored twice at a mile on turf at top tracks Newbury and on the July Course at Newmarket at classes 2 and 3 levels. May need the run after a long break but Jim Crowley booked.

⭕ 8.00 Kempton I don’t usually delve down into the dark regions of class 6 but Rooful (BETDAQ 3.3) beat winners when she scored over the Kempton CD three weeks ago, yet is still getting weight from those around her in the handicap.

After six attempts to raise her game in headgear (cheekpieces, then blinkers, then cheekpieces again), she seemed to enjoy a new lease of life for Kempton and no aids at all, with Charlie Bishop taking over in the saddle.
