NAPS HAT-TRICK BID TONIGHT: Daqman bids for a naps hat-trick on a Chelmsford favourite tonight after gambles landed have given him overall profits in the last two days.

Wednesday profit: 4.7 points
WON 11-10 LOUP DE MAULDE (nap)

Tuesday profit: 4.2 points
WON 4-6 BERNARD SPIERPOINT (nap)

SATURDAY BIG-RACE PREVIEW: Stats and facts for the Tolworth after defection of the favourite.

LUCCIA LEAVES IT TO AUTHORISED

⭕ 2.25 Sandown, Saturday (Tolworth Hurdle) STATS: AGE 5yo 5, 6yo 3. FAVOURITE: 6-8. TRAINERS: Team Tizzard 3. JOCKEYS: Tom O’Brien 2.

Another Gary Moore hit has been authorised. The Sussex trainer has landed half a million in prizemoney this season, boosted by a big splash in the autumn.

Botox Has, Editeur Du Gite and Goshen starred in a hat-trick of Graded strikes at Ascot, Kempton and Haydock in November and December.

Now, on the defection of the favourite, Luccia (scoped badly), for last year’s winning trainer Nicky Henderson (he won it with Constitution Hill), Moore leads the market for Saturday’s Tolworth Hurdle at Sandown with Authorised Speed.

Authorised Speed, himself, is on a hat-trick mission after autumn prizes scooped at Lingfield and Sandown on the back of a decent effort, fifth, in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival last March.

Vying for favouritism with the Authorised gelding is Tahmuras, three in a row already for Paul Nicholls, if you include his bumper win on home ground at Wincanton.

Back-to-back hurdles success in November included a Haydock Listed but the runner-up that day was then beaten twice by a total of 68 lengths.

The second to Tahmuras earlier at Chepstow, when he broke his hurdles maiden, has finished out of the frame twice since, an overall 35 lengths in rear.

The defection of Luccia will probably tempt Henry De Bromhead to bring over Arctic Bresil, who romped home in his own maiden at Cork last month from an odds-on favourite, saddled by Willie Mullins.

HART DROP IN WEIGHT AND GRADE

⭕ 2.15 Wolverhampton today One Hart drops down to class 6 for the first time since he won easily over the Wolver CD two years back.

After that he ventured into class 4 and 5, even class 3, and five times finished within a couple of lengths of the winner.

He’s 10lb down the handicap on his winning form and Oliver Stammers takes off 3lb.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 24.0 One Hart

⭕ 3.45 Wolverhampton Last time Motawaazy put on cheekpieces, he landed a hat-trick. They were back on for the first time in eight months at Newcastle before Christmas, dropped down to today’s trip, and he scored again, potentially the start of another sequence.

BETDAQ value 5.8 Motawaazy

PROSPERING FOR NAPS HAT-TRICK

⭕ 6.00 Chelmsford Runner-up at Southwell early last month over 7f to a dual recent winner, Prospering is bred for this drop back in distance and now has strong-man Tom Marquand doing the steering for Ed Walker, the pair bringing home a favourite over this trip at Kempton yesterday.

Cool Lightning’s second spots in the autumn don’t stand up to scrutiny and he has to give 7lb to my naps hat-trick contender, Prospering, fancied to make all.

BETDAQ value 2.23 nap Prospering

A BIT OF IMPROVEMENT IS LIKELY

⭕ 7.00 Chelmsford I would say that a 3lb hike for winning here over the CD was not a bit harsh.

Bit Harsh hadn’t done much – that’s why he was 22-1 – but the combination of first-time cheekpieces and the superb Rossa Ryan saw him beat a big field in a good time.

The form has been franked by the runner-up over a similar trip at Wolverhampton for which he, too, earned a 3lb rise.

Trainer Alan King, who has had three winners this year already, keeps the cheekpieces, keeps Rossa Ryan and keeps his fingers crossed for ‘same again please’ from Bit Harsh.

Storm Catcher, another CD winner in December, has to give Bit Harsh 10lb and Archie Watson’s class-4 Wolverhampton Mafia Power looks a bigger danger, with Hollie Doyle taking over. But the four-year-old is the potential improver.

BETDAQ value 3.65 Mafia Power, 9.4 Bit Harsh.
