IRISH RACING RESUMES AT FAIRYHOUSE TODAY: Shamrock plays the nap card in the 3.25 race.
The ground is soft, heavy in places at Fairyhouse this afternoon.
In the maiden hurdle at 3.25 there’s little to choose in the BETDAQ market between Andiamos, War Correspondent and Follow The Sign – all trading in a tight band between 3.1 and 3.4. Any one of the three could start favourite, but I prefer the chances of Follow The Sign who ran well when second to Rolly Baby at Thurles last time out and gave the distinct impression that the step-up in distance to 2 1/2 miles today will suit well.
War Correspondent is one that is stepping down in distance which might not necessarily suit. He is also becoming expensive to follow and has already let supporters down at 4/7.
Andiamos from Willie Mullins yard is the least experienced of the trio. He makes his hurdling debut here after three starts in bumpers and in time is likely to show his best form over the larger obstacles.
