WEXFORD SATURDAY NAP: SHAMROCK attempts to build a new naps sequence starting today at Wexford with their flat card.
It’s a big day at Newbury for Aidan O’Brien and Declaration Of War but my colleagues DAQMAN and DONN McCLEAN have already previewed that race in detail and I’ll stay closer at home at Wexford.
No joy from the nap yesterday which finished second so it’s a clean sheet and hopefully the start of a new sequence starting today.
Two colts and two fillies face the starter for the 2.45 and there’s just 2lb between the four runners on official ratings.
We therefore need to look at potential and other factors including the benefit of a recent start.
With these factors in mind, I come down in favour of the Dermot Weld trained Nabat Ali who made a winning reappearance in a maiden at Dundalk last month. Weld’s horses are in good form and Nabat Ali can strike again on ground that is likely to suit her.
I think the other filly, Majestic Jasmime is the danger but she is hard to assess as all three of her starts have come on the Polytrack at Dundalk.
