DAQMAN WITH A FRIDAY FOUR-TIMER: Daqman finds a bet at each of four main meetings today: Haydock, Newbury, Newmarket and Pontefract. He took morning offers up to 9.0 on the BETDAQ exchange.
GET AHEAD WITH DAQMAN PREVIEWS: Look out tomorrow for a big day in Ireland (the Oaks at the Curragh) and a Super Sprint in England: use Daqman’s previews (Wednesday and Thursday) to study the form.
HE CAN KEEP ASADNA AT BAY
⭕ 4.45 Newbury This Listed 2-y-o sprint is a favourites race (five out of six 2015 to 2020).
Front of the market today (BETDAQ 2.22) is Asadna, debut winner for George Boughey but switched to Alice Haynes, after a disappointing run in the Coventry Stakes.
A bunch of eight horses drawn high – including Asadna out of gate 17 – finished from 7th to 14th, beaten by the far-side-to-centre group, led by River Tiber, who won out of 6.
Bobsleigh, a short price for tomorrow’s Super Sprint, was sixth.
A horse called Jasour could be the key to the form. Beaten by Palmar Bay at Salisbury in May, he has landed a double since then, including the Group-2 July Stakes, which has sent his rating up to 109.
I’m looking forward to seeing Balon D’Or, because the Kodiac colt will tell me something about my latest fancy among the French fillies.
I was so impressed with Christopher Head’s Ramatuelle when she won the Group 3 at Chantilly on Sunday that I put her straight into the Fortune Cookies, as the next Blue Rose Cen.
Balon d’Or was one of the colts beaten – more than seven lengths – by the new filly find.
Balon d’Or’s form connects to Bobsleigh, the pair having fought out the finish of the Woodcote Stakes at Epsom in June.
I need all the information I can for my two-year-old ratings, which I’ve promised to publish for Goodwood and York.
Betdaq Betting Exchange 7.6 Palmar Bay
NIGIRI’S FORM GETS BOOSTED
⭕ 5.00 Haydock Newton-le-Willows is not Haydock without soft ground, and it should suit a French Derby winner’s daughter.
Nigiri ‘did a Shaquille’ and reared in the stalls, slowly away, then not clear run two out, or might have beaten Tiffany at Wolverhampton in June.
Tiffany backed up that win at Windsor this week; meanwhile Nigiri has had plenty of stalls practice at home and gets a change of rider.
Nigiri’s trainer Ralph Beckett has landed five winners out of 11 in the last six days and she looks set to break her maiden against a bunch of tired losers or rivals exposed as class-6 winners at best.
MAY DAY, MAY DAY.. BELTANE!
⭕ 7.15 Pontefract Beltane won in April and June and missed out in races around his May Day festival!
That’s because he didn’t like the firm ground and was beaten at Beverley and Wetherby but today looks a perfect opportunity to hike him into class 4.
Pontefract is good to soft with showers forecast but you have to go hour by hour with English racing.
For instance, I dismissed firm-ground horse Azahara Palace at Chepstow yesterday on the grounds of ‘good to soft; showers forecast’ when it turned out to be ‘good; sunny intervals.’
I wasn’t alone, it seems. My nap, Eyeshadow, was smashed in to 5-4 favourite (third), while Azahara Palace drifted to 5-1 and won.
Beltane’s trainer, Michael Appleby, is on a four-timer today, after a hat-trick at Leicester last night.
Betdaq Betting Exchange value: 5.0 Beltane
9.0 REMEDY FROM THERAPIST
⭕ 7.30 Newmarket It’s helpful to get a low draw to negotiate the first – and only – bend over 1m 2f, though, in a smallish field like this one, they will race up the centre after that.
Therapist was all over the shop when he won over the CD on the first day of the month.
Dwelt, raced centre, switched to far side, headway and switched left two out, says the form book.
Kept on well to beat Zara’s Return who had won on the Rowley Mile course in May and trounced a class-higher field at Sandown in June.
Has a tough task today but, assuming he’s a more street-wise individual now, 9.0 on BETDAQ looks too big.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
