DAQMAN STAR IS SHINING FOR GOODWOOD WEEK: Look out tomorrow at Goodwood! Daqman made an overall profit yesterday with a winner at both of the terrestrial TV meetings and has now gone 13 days out of 14 with at least one strike per day.

6.6 BETDAQ NAP TO OPEN THE GALWAY FESTIVAL: Daqman hopes the draw is a winner on the opening day of the Galway Festival tonight, where his nap was 6.6 on BETDAQ this morning. He also has a ‘bonus’ nap for the English meetings and will follow that pattern at Goodwood and Galway for the rest of the week.
GHAZ TO DAZZLE
⭕ 4.05 Lingfield No surprise to see the ground turn good to soft at Lingfield – after the deluge of rain on Sunday (which has also impacted Goodwood) I’m surprised it’s not even more testing.
Interesting to see Peggoty going again in the 3.00. She looked one of the unluckiest losers of the season when letting me down for the nap two weeks ago at Bath but will be priced prohibitively to gain compensation today. There can’t be many notebooks that she didn’t go into after that effort!
Ghazaaly can give Oisin Murphy another winner by landing the fillies handicap on the card. She makes her debut for Rod Millman and also has a couple of pounds respite from the handicapper
The drop back in trip should also help her and this looks quite a weak contest. I could only really find one danger and that’s the Heather Main trained Actaea who has shown some ability at Kempton and is interesting on handicap debut.
BONUS TIME FOR THE NAP
⭕ 4.35 Lingfield Oisin Murphy also has strong claims here onboard Moosmee who handles the course and ground well but may have to play second fiddle again to Bonus.
Bonus had Moosmee five lengths back in second when winning over course and distance last month and with a swing of just 2lb in the runner-up’s favour surely that form is likely to be confirmed?
Moosmee did come out and win well subsequently but that came over the shorter 6f trip.
The two dominate the BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE market and should have the race to themselves with Chepstow winner Inner Circle up a harsh 5lb for a narrow win.
ALWARD TO GET A REWARD
⭕ 5.25 Windsor Not much form to go on for the two-year-olds but there was plenty to like from the debut run of the Richard Hughes trained filly Amirat Alward at Lingfield.
She was clueless at the start and gave away plenty of ground and in the circumstances did really well to finish second and arguably was an unlucky loser.
She should know plenty more about what’s required today and with a better start can take some beating.
FILLY COULD WIN A COUNTRY MILE
⭕ 4.40 Galway Eight winners out of 10 have been drawn in stalls 1-to-8 for this 7f handicap.
After taking this twice in the last three seasons, Kells trainer Michael Mulvany has applied first-time tongue-tie and booked Declan McDonogh for the topically-named maiden Rave N Contagion.
But the draw seems to have been unkind; stall 13 is nothing to rave about; nor, indeed, is the ground unless the rain gets into it.
William McCreery has brought his ‘grand big filly’ Mother Country back from a mile (winner at Naas) for this handicap debut; she travels really well. The Naas second followed up with back-to-back wins.
Gavin Cromwell’s Li Mu Bai progressed, though still looked green, to score at Fairyhouse the last day and Shane Foley takes over.
Cisco Disco seems sure to go well in his hat-trick bid and Zumoradda will tell us whether Dermot Weld has planned a return to the good old days when he farmed the entire Ballybrit meeting.

WELL-DRAWN PIPPEN IS THE PICK
⭕ 5.15 Galway Another 7f handicap and again results by draw show nine winning single-figure stalls successful in the decade.
William McCreery, who won this race last year, seems to have been out of luck this time, with Coill Na Sionainne drawn 18, and Shane Foley switches to Jessica Harrington’s Maud Gonne Spirit out of 14 ( would have bet blind she was by Yeats, but not so).
Seamie Heffernan takes over on Royal Pippen (stall 9) who has dropped 10lb since the end of last season and looked as if coming back to form on the last day.
Godhead (8) has slipped 9lb since leaving John Gosden and this is a drop in class.
High Altitude (2) is down a stone on this time last year. Stablemate Kodiqueen comes out of the stalls with him, drawn 4.

COLTOR CAN LEAD WELD REVIVAL
⭕ 6.15 Galway This 59,000-euro stamina test has been won by some smart sorts, with last year’s winner, Princess Zoe, going on to be second in the Ascot Gold Cup last month.
On her second to Zoe last year off today’s mark, Cathal Byrnes’ Run For Mary, a last-day winner at Limerick, must be front rank again; cheekpieces first time.
You usually want four and five year olds at the bottom end of the handicap. Willie Mullins, who has scored a recent hat-trick (2017-19) has six runners, some of them in this strike area
My eye was caught by Exchange Rate, placed here last year before fifth in the Irish Cesarewitch and second in the November Handicap off a mark 7lb higher than today.
That’s further reduced 5lb by Paul Townend’s younger sister, Jody, who won this race for Willie in 2019 on Great White Shark. Ballybrit was the scene of Paul’s first big winner, too.
Jody’s mount is nine years old and younger stablemate’s Foveros and My Sister Sarah (Jamie Codd), both winners on the last day, look formidable opponents.
But Coltor (Dermot Weld again) is the one all dressed up for the day: visor back on, tongue-strap first time.
