DAQMAN RUN ENDS AT 282-POINTS PROFIT HAUL: It all got off to a flying start (Asylo WON 4-1) but Daqman’s massive run of 282 points profit, with five naps up out of six, faltered on the last day of the week yesterday, after five winning days.

MIA TO STORM HOME

2.05 Kempton A question to start the week. What’s the next number in this sequence 2,3,4 ? The answer, obviously, is 8 !!! It’s the number of runners in the first four races on the Kempton card this afternoon where the ‘good to firm in places’ has taken it’s toll.

Fortunately the Listed race at 2.05 remains very competitive, despite there just being a quartet of runners and it’s by far and away the best race on Monday’s card.

Three of the four were winners last time out but in the case of Culture De Sivola that win came on her final race of last season at Haydock in March when the ground was soft. Her best form has come with give in the ground so she is ruled out.

Dan Skelton is in great form (10 winners from last 59) but Whatzdjazz faces a stiff task. On ratings alone she is 4lb interior to Culture De Sivola and a massive 20lb off Mia’s Storm.

We’re down to two.

Paul Nicholls is another trainer in great form, even better than Skelton (11 winners from last 47) and in the case of If You Say Run he has a runner who handles good ground and comes into this on the back of a smooth reappearance at Wincanton. She was hanging badly to her left in the closing stages that day and I’m not certain the extra distance will help.

Mia’s Storm looks the safest bet as she a prolific winner on good ground and has plenty in hand on the numbers. She gained a confidence boosting win last time out over hurdles at Uttoxeter having fallen on two consecutive previous starts over fences. The switch back to smaller obstacles seems a sensible one.

1 buys me 0.74 on BETDAQ at the time of writing which makes her a SUPERNAP qualifier.

2.35 Kempton Sister Sibyl is a progressive and consistent runner for trainer Hughie Morrison and looks the answer to this decent handicap chase.

She was no match for Diakali in the squareintheair.com Novices’ Chase at Cheltenham last time out but it was still a big effort and the extra trip should suit here, as indeed will the good ground.

Roll The Dough is having a great early season campaign but is up in the weights and up in class which might halt his progress.

3.40 Kempton The appropriately named Monday Club is out again quickly after finishing second on Saturday at Huntingdon. It was his prior effort though that reads well in the context of this race when he was third to Blushing Red over course and distance.

He might just represent a spot of value against the penalised Fairway Freddy who won well at Wincanton last week.

DAQMAN’S BETS (staked to win 20 points except SUPERNAP)
SUPERNAP BET 20pts win MIA’S STORM (2.05 Kempton)
BET 7.8pts win SISTER SIBYL (2.35 Kempton)
BET 3.8pts win MONDAY CLUB (3.40 Kempton)
