BACK-TO-BACK NAPS AT 2-1 AND 9-4: Kaylif Aramis (Saturday nap, WON 9-4) followed up Daqman’s Cheltenham finale five winners, including the nap, Salsify (WON 2-1). That brings his naps sequence to 11011, which includes two in his hat-trick of winning bankers.
THE DAQMAN MANIFESTO FOR FLAT 2013: Today Daqman begins his countdown to the Flat, with his betting pledges for the 2013 season, which starts next week. He’s ‘upping the ante’ on quality races.
TOMORROW: His final jumps horses to follow for the Aintree and Punchestown festivals. TUESDAY: His first Flat list: the Early Birds.
Last Flat season I started with a 20-1 winner. I made 83 points in five winning days out of six. Then I had the 28-1 Kempton Park Jubilee winner and another big hit at 33-1.
But, even though I’d amassed 320 points profit by Derby Day – it’s all in the Daqman Library – I felt that something was emerging from my betting which could have made the big hits even bigger.
You know me by now. I do better in quality races on quality racedays and on Saturdays. What was different about those days? Well, I could rely on two things: the class of the horses and the strength of the betting market.
So I’m going to cash in on these profitable areas in the new season, starting next week at Doncaster, by upping the ante:
CLASS OF 2013 I shall nominate the quality races for bigger stakes and therefore bigger returns, increasing my stakes. Class results will bring bigger profits.
MAJOR MEETINGS The bigger stakes will also apply to major meetings, particularly on Saturday’s at the major tracks, such as Ascot, Goodwood, Newemarket.
JACKPOT BETS Jackpot bets will also be boosted and I will attempt giant jackpot doubles on Daq Multiples.
BIGGER BANKERS Banker stakes will be boosted so that returns on shorter odds, such as the 8-15 Simonsig, will be doubled, though I shall continue to try to find odds-against prices as the first priority.
BANKER LAYS You have also asked me to distinguish between opposing a favourite, as I did Sam Winner at Cheltenham, and laying one, as I did, Dynaste. Both lost. What’s the difference? More about these plans later next week.
Meanwhile, my horses to follow have been successful on the Flat and over jumps and I shall start two new lists next week as advertised at the top of the page.
Jumps horses to follow winners have included: Dynaste, Boston Bob, Easter Day, Gevrey Chambertin, Highland Lodge, Monksland, Silviniaco Conti, Sir Des Champs, Sprinter Sacre and Whisper. Here are some of the big-race Flat winners from the 2012 lists:
