‘GOOD IDEA’ SUPERNAP MAKES IT FIVE OUT OF SIX FOR 92 POINTS: Daqman made it five winning naps out of six yesterday. In fact, he had a good idea for a supernap, which went 9-4 to evens but with plenty of 11-10 as the race approached. Bonne Idee (WON 4-5) took his profit on the sequence to 92 points at SP but 220 at prices and offers taken on BETDAQ:

WON 4-5 BONNE IDEE (Monday supernap)
WON 2-5 CALL THE WIND (Sunday nap)
WON 2-5 HELL BOY (Friday supernap)
WON 3-1 AMAZING COMEDY (Thursday supernap)
WON 19-10 OFTENWORK (Wednesday nap, 6.0 taken on BETDAQ)

XAAROS FOR JOCKEY KING BOUDOT

⚠️ LEADING FRENCH (FLAT) TRAINERS: Jean-Claude Rouget 32, Christophe Escuder and Christophe Ferland both on 24, Frederic Rossi 24, Fabrice Vermeulen 23, Jerome Reynier 20, Francis-Henri Graffard and Henri-Alex Pantall on 19.

⚠️
JOCKEYS:
Pierre-Charles Boudot 62, Maxime Guyon 45, Christophe Soumillon 43, Cristian Demuro 31, Anthony Crastus 29, Eddy Hardouin 27, Julien Auge 25, Delphine Santiago 20.

⭕ 11.40 Dieppe Maxime Guyon, who won on Lloyd at Deauville last year, one of the Zebedee colt’s three from four, was back on board for his reappearance prep at Chantilly in March.

Chantilly is the home course for Lloyd and his trainer, Josephine Soudan, who had today’s race in mind to drop Lloyd to a lesser track.

It’s also his first run in a claimer since Maisons-Laffitte in July last year. He won gamely that day, giving weight to a subsequent Clairefontaine winner. The jockey? Maxime Guyon. The snag? Lloyd has never raced at the minimum.

He may not be sharp enough for Phillipe Sogorb’s grey Xaaros, dropping from a Group-3 reappearance at Chantilly and with the formidable Pierre-Charles Boudot booked to ride. Xaaros scored under the one ride from Boudot, his one win over 5.5f. He was 2.87 on BETDAQ this morning.

The ratings have Mangkhut in second but hard to understand why. Henk Grewe took him to Saint-Cloud to win a claimer and I can’t see him dropping back to 5f from that 7f success on heavy.

12.50 Dieppe Letty’s Marvel is up in the weights after a Deauville double in December for Lamorlaye trainer, Carla O’Halloran, the former champion amateur rider in Spain and then Italy.

There was money early mouse for Goderville, who is 9lb better off with Lettys Marvel after being fifth in a blanket finish on heavy ground on his reappearance. Has won on a sound surface at Deauville.

The good ground will suit Dalvini, who won a big field handicap at Longchamp last Spring. Was giving away weight all round under today’s partner, Christophe Soumillon, when beaten just a length and a half in another big field at Chantilly in March.

I can’t find a trainer in form in this race but I decided to side with Dalvini (BETDAQ 4.5), who has won for Soumillon, had a good run back and likes the terrain today.

2.35 Dieppe Mathieu Boutin is the top, or one of the top, trainers year on year at Dieppe, and his five-year-old Blocking Bet could bounce back in this 1m 4f handicap, after trying a trip too far on the last day Has won twice at around 1m 4f. Looked big on BETDAQ at 8.0 under Maxime Guyon.

JAMES REVELEY RIDE HAS ‘CD’ EDGE

⚠️
LEADING FRENCH (JUMPS) TRAINERS:
Francois Nicolle 56, Guillaume Macaire 32, David Cottin 28, Gabriel Leenders 24, Emmanuel Clayeux 18. For Pau, Cottin 13 leads Macaire 8, with Hector de Lageneste 6, Gabriel Leenders 5.

⚠️
JOCKEYS:
Clement Lefebvre 25, Angelo Zuliani 19, Felix De Giles 14, Charlotte Prichard 13, Nathalie Desoutter 12, Alain De Chitray 11, Kevin Nabet 10. Similar order for Pau.

⭕ 4.02 Pau You can expect David Cottin and Guillaume Macaire to slug out several races here today, particularly in this 2m 3f chase, with Motu Fareone (Cottin) 6lb better for a five-lengths defeat by Jemsa (Macaire) on heavy ground over two furlongs shorter at Compiegne.

Macaire is the local star trainer but Chantilly-handler Cottin takes a bunch of horses down there to a winter base, and currently leads Macaire 13-8 this season.

Determined to split this head-to-head is James Reveley on the only CD winner in the race, Baxter Du Berlais, who has scored on a sound surface. This is his first handicap and he looks well up to it. I took BETDAQ 6.0.

MACAIRE AT LARGE ON HOME TRACK

⭕ 5.12 Pau Over the same CD, but not a handicap this time: Macaire has a hot one, Cottin an outsider. Both are fillies against geldings in a 2m 3f chase.

There’s poor coverage of the form of Macaire’s grey Fortune Du Large in the English racing Press. In fact, she landed a progressive hat-trick in December, January, February; literally at large month on month, and deserves to be 2.62 BETDAQ favourite.

She has never raced as far as today in all that, until stepping up in grade on good ground in March, beaten five lengths in second. The winner was another grey, who was completing his hat-trick.

Cottin’s Flower Of Scotland was behind Fortune Du Large over hurdles at Fontainebleau in February.

The Doctor Dino grey, Doctor Squeeze, was a Listed winner at Auteuil in the winter, hock deep in mud.

A bigger threat may be Fidele Au Poste, second recently over today’s trip on good ground at Compiegne but was odds-on favourite beaten by a 50-1 shot with a 28-1 third.

So you might feel you’d like to see whether that meant anything before risking your hard-earned.
