DAQMAN LANDS NAP NUMBER 45: Winner-a-day Daqman made it 24 winning tips in 13 days with his gambled-on Redcar nap, Galilaeus (WON 1-2), yesterday. That’s 45 winning naps this year.

TODAY: THE TOP FILLIES: Daqman assesses the leading three-year-old fillies so far, with an eye to the Oaks (Friday, June 2).

TOMORROW: DERBY COLTS: The Derby is a puzzle this year; can Daqman rate them and get a result for Saturday, June 3.

OAKS A RACE OF ACE FILLIES

FIND the lady! The Derby looks wide open but the Oaks is a two-filly fantasia, with words and music by the master Classic trainers of England and Ireland.

Team Gosden could have another Enable the way Soul Sister bolted up in the Musidora last week, a showstopper carrying Frankie Dettori back into the limelight in his final year.

The daughter of Frankel ran them down, straight as a die at York, looking for all the world in the market as if she was a turn-up at 18-1 SP.

It was the transformation from her getting stuck in the mud at Newbury, 12 of 12 in the Fred Darling three weeks earlier.

Aidan O’Brien meanwhile had won the Cheshire Oaks (the race that launched Enable) with a daughter of Galileo who took 22 lengths out of her field: Savethelastdance, for me sensational in recording those fast furlongs which stamp her performance as class.

I see the Racing Post has her less than a pound in front of Soul Sister and that could be the case. I’m t’other way round.

But just how much the pair, each just three times raced, can improve before Epsom is the only guesswork for the Oaks.

The Derby, on the other hand, has four or five talented performers from which to pick the ace. I will try rating them tomorrow, then squaring my Fortune Cookies to land the Classic double.

TOO LATE FOR NINETOFIVE

⭕ 6.20 Hexham This looks every inch the match that the Betdaq Betting Exchange market is indicating between Ninetofive and Harper Valley.

The morning preference on the exchange was Ninetofive who remains a maiden after six starts (and twice a beaten favourite).

He ran his best race here in March when a close second but that came on heavy ground and conditions are a lot quicker tonight. His most recent effort at Perth is probably best ignored as he lost both his front shoes.

His trainer Sandy Thomson 0 from 9 with quite a few of his recent runners being beaten sizeable distances and preference has to be for Harper Valley who is still open to plenty of improvement on just his fourth start. He seems progressive and whilst he could never land a blow with the odds-on Ballyporeen at Kelso last time out – the winner looks quite useful and was completing a hat-trick.

NO ESCAPING ABDUCTION

⭕ 7.00 Ayr Could be a home win here for Jim Goldie’s Abduction who now gets the sandwich filling of six furlongs having contested races over 5f and 7f in his last two starts.

He was still staying on well when narrowly beaten by The Thin Blue Line over five furlongs last time out at Musselburgh so the combination of the longer trip and quicker ground should prove optimal.

The handicapper has given him a chance off the same mark and he is preferred to recent Doncaster winner Woven who tends to go a long time between drinks when consenting to get his head in front.

A CHEMISTRY LESSON

⭕ 8.50 Hexham We know Chemical Warfare is on a winning mark as he won off the same 78 over fences at Newcastle last week – so the only question is whether he can be equally as effective for the switch back to hurdles?

He gets the same good ground again and that might make all the difference. He was a five length fifth over hurdles at Southwell two starts ago on good to soft and the bulk of his form suggests he needs these quicker conditions.

Haveyougotmymoney hasn’t really progressed since winning on debut at Uttoxeter but is another who could be suited by the drier ground. Connections are on a recovery mission after he was a beaten favourite at the same track last time out and he looks the obvious danger.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
