8-1 DAQMAN WINNER HAS LAYERS AT BAY: Daqman was again among the better priced winners with Across The Bay (WON 8-1) at Haydock yesterday. He argued that, though top weight, the McCain runner was down in the ratings and dropped in class.

2013 FINAL-FLING YANKEE: Daqman has analysed Warwick and Uttoxeter today to try to find a last-day-of-2013 yankee to fill the wallet and raise your spirits, and glasses, for the New Year.

THERE’S ALWAYS TOMORROW: January 1 sees the usual skilled and sober (!) Daqman approach to big-race betting, bankers and lays, for which he suggests you join him with the Betdaq New-Year Resolution.

NEW-YEAR BETTING RESOLUTION: LIVE AND LEARN WITH BETDAQ

* LIVE betting on BETDAQ is so much better than fixed odds, with offers at specific times adding up to an average of around 107% against the bookies’ 117%. That’s when I work for you in the mornings. That’s when I like to pounce.

* AND those offers are so punter-friendly, you and I can afford to back more than one horse in a race and trade out some of our early positions later on with the weapon others wish they had: the lay.

* LEARN by your mistakes – and mine – on a daily basis, as you join me in playing the great bet and lay game, increasing your stakes on the better-quality races.

* MORE about all this in January, with a promise to keep records of my bankers, lays and big-race bets, as usual (see Daqman Library now).

TODAY’S RACING: IT’S TONY MCCOY CENTRE STAGE AS EVER

WARWICK: Lambourn handler Warren Greatrex has stats which appeal to the punter: his strike rate is 22%, which puts him among the top 10 in the trainers’ table on that count.

But he’s in the top five when it comes to level-stakes profit on all his starters, which translates as ‘he gets good-priced winners.’

It may be significant that he asks Tony McCoy to ride Stage King (12.50), who enjoyed deep ground in his bumpers in Ireland, and last time out ran in a better quality maiden on today’s track on a much sounder surface. The winner has landed a class-2 handicap since.

Mrs Jordan (2.50) looks a good bet in the novices’ hurdle, with three races over hurdles under her belt, and with stables of the main opposition badly out of form.

Both Alan King, who runs Tickity Bleue, and Kim Bailey, responsible for Molly’s A Diva, have won this race in the last six years, but it’s hard to trust any of their runners right now.

King is struggling with current form figures of 4440440F300, and Bailey, who says that some of his horses are scoping for mucus post-race, is 300P000F003.

UTTOXETER: Richard Lee’s yard is still celebrating their Saturday Welsh Grand National win with Mountainous but he was one of three winners in a superb week for the Hereford outfit.

And among the stable youngsters they have most been looking forward to running over fences is Tresor De Bontee (1.40), a heavy ground winner over hurdles on today’s course the last time he was seen in public.

Notus De La Tour (2.10) is much better than the bare form. The one time Leopardstown Arkle third reverts to fences after uninspiring, but necessary fitness runs over hurdles.

Cheekpieces, which he’d worked well in at home, were applied after that Irish big race but the gelding took a nasty fall at the Cheltenham Festival and pulled up in another Grade 3 over fences. The cheekpieces are back on again for the first time today, as he is dropped to a class 3. Let’s hope they boost his confidence this time around.
