BOSTON IS BACK: Boston Bob, a faller at both the Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals starts his comeback trail back at Punchestown this afternoon in the 1.45.

Boston Bob has been off the track for 252 days but that’s never usually a problem for a Willie Mullins trained runner.

A bigger issue might well be what shape he is in mentally – having fallen in his last two racecourse appearances – both at the highest level.

He had a narrow lead before falling at the last in the RSA Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and then went on to fall three out in the Champion Novice Chase at the Punchestown Festival when still having plenty of work to do.

It’s no surprise to see him back over hurdles for his (hopefully) confidence boosting run today and Ruby Walsh is onboard favouring him over the other Mullins runner in the race Mourad who has been off the course since running in the French Champion Hurdle at Auteuil in June last year.

Mourad is actually rated the better horse on official ratings and at around 4.8 on BETDAQ has to be the bet for me against the 1.9 for Boston Bob.
