BOY RIDER GIVEN BIG BREAK BY GOSDEN AND SON IN LINCOLN: Lincoln Handicap news is that John Gosden and son Thady, who launch their shared licence with Haqeeqy in Saturday’s Lincoln Handicap, have booked 18-year-old 7lb claimer Benoit De La Sayette for the ride.
TOMORROW: Daqman’s ABC guide to the Lincoln.
TODAY: Daqman can’t promise winners but he can forecast the future based on his own form of averaging 87 feature-race winners a season on the Flat. See below: 1,000-POINTS-PROFIT VALUE HUNT in his betting plan for the Flat.
1,000-POINTS-PROFIT VALUE HUNT
Daqman v Pricewise: Look out for 87 Daqman feature-race winners! That’s the forecast for the Flat season just started, based on the results of the last five years.
Though the 2020 Flat was a shortened version because of restrictions and lockdowns, Daqman landed 54 hits against Pricewise of the Racing Post in feature events, usually terrestrial televised races.
But in the four previous seasons, he recorded 88, 86, 87 and 87 winning bets, suggesting ultra-consistent tipping and a reliable success rate, averaging 87.
He’s landed 507 winning bets in the last six Flat seasons, with the 2015 Flat his best with a record 105 strikes.
And he’s scored 78 wins in the challenge over the last two jumps seasons for a profit of 1,030 points, so 87 in one season on the Flat could crack 1,000 points between now and November.
Early birds: Daqman’s list of horses likely to strike in April and May has made a profit every year for five seasons, peaking at 483 points in 2017.
But every year on the Flat the list has developed into Fortune Cookies, keeping the best for the rest of the season, and adding future champions.
That’s how Daqman discovered Enable and followed her through her fantastic sequence of 15 wins.
Lays Logic: Daqman has an 70% strike rate with lays, mainly looking to beat the favourite but sometimes nominating other horses in a race which are overbet.
Naps: Best-of-the-day bets. Sequences of up to seven, even eight, winning naps out of 10 are regular in Spring and summer. A nap that is very strongly fancied is made up to a 20-point Supernap.
🔢 Staking plan -1 Daqman targets 50 points with big-odds BETDAQ bull’s-eye bets which are value at weekends and at festival meetings.
🔢 Staking plan -2 On an ordinary weekday, bets are kept to win 10 with staking adjusted to try to ensure an overall profit or for one winner to pay for the day.
My starting point on Wednesday was Haydock thinking I could find at least one bet, possibly more, but it wasn’t to be so I’m sticking with Market Rasen and Hereford.
RIDGE IS MY TARGET
⭕ 3.30 Market Rasen Gunsight Ridge stands out in this two and a half mile handicap hurdle. Olly Murphy has his string in decent form (7 winners from the last 39) and although a beaten favourite at Kempton last time out it was still a decent effort in third from him in what looked a better contest than this.
It was the first time he had been stepped up to this kind of trip (excluding debut point win) so there are no problems in the stamina department and I think there is every chance of further improvement to come. Then handicapper has kept him on 122 and that looks a very ‘winnable’ mark.
On the contrary, his main BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE rivals look firmly in the grip of the handicapper, especially so Silent Assistant who remains on a career high 123 – despite being beaten 39 lengths in better company at Newbury last time out.
Quest For Life has had three races this year and it’s been a pick ‘n’ mix so far – one chase, one hurdle and one bumper and is therefore quite hard to weigh up, whilst the mare Rosie and Millie reappears after wind surgery and is probably best watched although likely to toe them along as is her style.
PRAYERS BETTER THAN THE DOCTOR
⭕ 5.05 Market Rasen Many will be hopeful for an Olly Murphy double on the card courtesy of Doctor Ken in the bumper. He made a pleasing debut here in November finishing second and then was far from disgraced in better company at Newbury in January when fourth to Fine Casting. That came on heavy ground but the form has not worked out well since from the couple that have reappeared.
Unanswered Prayers hails from Chris Gordon’s yard who are in good form and looks the one.
There was plenty to like about his Rules debut at Kempton when beaten a neck by Guardino and he looks the value play here. He had also shown promise in Irish Points.
GG LOOKS A SMALL PLAY IN FINALE
⭕ 5.25 Hereford Gilwen Grayson can hopefully take a piece of this closing handicap hurdle over 2m 5f.
He was third over course and distance last month on his handicap debut and might well improve on that for the better ground.
Whilst it’s a race big on numbers there’s not much strength in depth and it might not be as competitive as it first looks.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
