EL CLASICO: We preview Sunday’s ‘El Clasico’ – it’s BARCELONA v REAL MADRID with extended stats and a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BARCELONA V REAL MADRID
3.15pm An El Clasico without Messi and Ronaldo – surely it won’t be the same?! The last Clasico played without both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo was on December 23rd 2007, at Camp Nou. It’s hard to believe that it was over ten years ago; times are always changing in football though and now Real Madrid have to move on and get used to life without Ronaldo.
That’s taking them some time. They are having a terrible start to their season and there’s already rumours that the manager is getting sacked – surely a big Barcelona win here will put him close to the point of no return? Barcelona have had their own troubles; they’ve only won once in their last four La Liga games and now they face their biggest rival without their star man.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Barcelona 2.02, Real Madrid 4.0 and the draw is 3.85. Real Madrid could make history here if they were to avoid defeat – they are unbeaten in their last three league visits to Camp Nou and never in La Liga history have they managed a run of four unbeaten games here. Given the way that they have played this season however, it’s hard to see them getting that record.
They arrive to Camp Nou in terrible form. They grinded out a 2-1 win in the Champions League midweek however prior to that they were beaten by Levante, Alaves, CSKA Moscow, drew with Atletico Madrid and lost to Sevilla. It’s hard to believe they are losing to sides like Levante and Alaves – indeed they started at an XSP of 1.15 to beat Levante!
Barcelona have had their trouble this season and now are without Messi; however they look way more solid compared to Real Madrid. They are having a terrible season and it’s very difficult to see them getting anything here if they continue to play the same way that they have been playing. Barcelona look massive at 2.02 with home advantage and we’re very happy to back them at those odds.
